We are badly in need of a new OWC.  This is merely IMO, but as I see it, script posts are way down and feedback is very low.

I know our Don has been and is busy, but still, it's way past time for a cherished OWC.  Lots of new folks around as of late that would really dig it, I bet.

What say all you peeps?

It's been awhile since the last one. I had high hopes for the October one, but I'm pleased to say, I'm too busy!  ;)

I agree Jeff, but instead of a One Week Challenge, how about One Wasted Challenge !!!  When we have one day to submit a script completely.... Banjaxxed, Hammered, plastered, shit faced, smashed, tanked, sloshed, loaded, juiced. :D

And there has to be plenty of nudity... preferably women :D

I think I'm gonna bite the f***ng bullet and pay the fees Jeffie! You know I can't stand a day without writing...or checking my email. I dunno haven't made up my mind yet! It's like .75/minute or so much per day I think! That could get expensive but you know me...don't like to miss a thing! *sigh*

Sneaking a bottle of Coconut Rum, Vodka, Kahlua, and Raspberry Liquor in one of my suitcases! Hope they don't find it! They are going to think I'm a drunk! LOL NO Jagie though!

Bite the bullet, Dena, and bring some Jagie...you never know...sometimes...menage's can be born form this tactic.  You are deserving or one...two...or three, my friend...

...Says the King of Menage Trois! ;)   I'm rather selfish in that department!

Hmmm Jagie...maybe I take some of that, too!

Yall may see me in the news...Drunk girl falls off boat trying to do the Titanic wind-in-my-face thing.

Bought me 2 bottles of that venom...at Sam's for $15.34 a piece.  Couldn't resist 'em, like I can't resist me none of that youngin' shit.

Ol'Rosco will be soon a fixture on these here boards.  You mark me, babyface.

Unless I'm wrong...

And I'm never wrong...  (Princess Bride)

We are just in time for a 7 WEEK OWC HALLOWEEN CHALLANGE...

Come on people...

Rally around and let's get a 7 week challenge nailed down.

But it's gotta be put together quickly in order for it to be a true 7WWC...

Who is in?

Jeff got this started and he's right!

The timing is perfect.

Shawn.....><

IMHO, 7WC has a better chance to get produced than the OWC scripts.

Features = money too           Shorts = no money :)

So game for 7WC here! ;)

I'm confused.  How does a one week challenge last for seven weeks?  =)

Now if we were to do 7 one week challenges back to back, that would be something.

They're saying a 7 week challenge to produce a feature script.

I'm out.

OWC!!!!

OWC!!!

OWC!!!

OWC!!!

OWC challenge sounds great.. if nothing else it'll give me lots of good shorts to read from all the heavy hitters on this site.

I'm with Jeff. C'mon give us newbies something!

OWC sounds great! I'll release the sequel to my first script, apologies for anyone who read it in the October OWC. But really, I do apologize.

A 7WC also wouldn't be that bad but I'd like to see a more narrow theme, kind of like the Christmas one.

I like it Pia...... 7 Wasted Challenges !!!!!! Woo hoo

I already finished the spec three years ago.

Yeah, getting the itch for an OWC.

I really appreciated the 7WC and maybe there is a place for one of those in the new year - January start??

In the mean time a decent old fashioned OWC with cursing, swearing! drunken rants and Jeff banned, again, for 48hrs etc is just what you need as the autumn approaches (northern hemisphere of course)

I've been active in a few others writing comps recently and whilst they are good writing workouts, nothing quite kicks off like an OWC. There are also a fair few active members who haven't been involved in one so far, so good to give them the chance.

As for theme, well I'm sure Don can conjure up something challenging.

Fingers crossed.

Seconded.

Getting four features market ready will swallow up my OWC time too.
Unless the theme happens to be in line with a short I promised a director! ;D

Regards.

I don't know, guys. I still haven't recovered from our last 7WC yet... Although, I do have a time travel idea I've been trying to get ready.

The thing about time travel scripts is that there are three kinds:

Back to the Future. The past can be changed and requires a ridiculous amount of payoffs. You'll never write anything as clever as this.

12 Monkeys. The past cannot be changed and requires a ridiculous amount of symbolism. You'll never write anything as clever as this.

Primer: The present is much more prevalent than the past. You'll never write anything as clever as this.

I may have forgotten another type, but those are the main three for now.

I plan on being in.

I will always try to find the time to do an OWC. Even if I am busy studying the rare Hissing Umbrella Spider in the jungle canopy of the Amazon, I will write my script on murumuru tree leaves and send it in to SS by Brazilian carrier pigeon.

Don might not like that, though.

I'll be in even if I have to write it completely wasted...oh wait...I mean, even if I'm stone cold sober!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
