..... Hi, I am 23, from the Central Florida, South of Orlando Area.
Jack has nothing to do with my actual name but is a familiar nickname of mine that im referred to at times more than even my own name.

People know me for knowing odd history things, like the word chivalry does not mean what everyone thinks it does, it actually originated some time around the 13th century and it has to do with the care of horses. Chivalry is the care of horses usually that of a knight or the king's horses it was the job of a stable boy. And being related to knights and kings in that minor way it has come to be mistaken as what everyone know it to be now. So when someone says your a chivalrous person they are saying you are a care taker of horses.

Interests include taking part in medieval reenactments (where I learned the Chivalry fact from) board games, and sleeping, lots and lots of sleeping, watching cartoons and movies in general, and I enjoy acting.

I have 5yrs Visual Effects, 3D Animation, Post Production and Photography experience and by trade of work I have done other things like Directing, Producing, Writing upon things. Most of my work has not seen the light of day and probably never will, a down side of the industry spending time on a project and having it dropped or shelved for some reasons that be.
A low budget I was an extra in is The Unbroken .. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2111466/

Thats it..... I guess.

Hey Jack, since we're calling you that. Nice to meet you.

You're into some cool things. I'm a history geek myself. Anything else you want to post on that, I'll gladly lead.

At 23, you've done a lot, your work will see the light!

Enjoy the website.

No not Full Sail I have alot to say about that school and none of it is flatering and I would never go there or work with anyone from there.

I took a tech program from a votech for Digital Design.
The standard Digital Design class is your Adobe Suite of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator and a few others for Digital Publishing thats basically what Digital Design is Digital Publishing for websites, advertisements and such stuff.

But the teacher asked the local school board if he could add in the transcripts other things for movies, and he was told so long as it did not cost the school board money.
So spending money out of his pocket he added in course work on top of what was already there things for for 3D Modeling and Animation for games and movies, Storyboarding for games and movies, Sound Production Artist, Photography, Visual Effects Artist, Video Production... the everything to make a movie from step 1 to the end aside for Directing, Creative Writing for scripts though we wrote scripts for projects and being a Producer are in the transcripts but those just come naturally from doing the rest.
And I am missing some stuff that was done in the class also.

But It comes down to if I had you my Certificate you would just think its just Digital Design unless you actually read through the transcripts or I show you my portfolio.
After graduating that class I went back to school and took Computer Network Support.

After taking the Network Support and completing that class I was actually thinking of going to Full Sail.
I took a few campus tours and I even worked with a handful of students coming out of that place on a few projects. I learned first hand that the main problem is the people that come from that school, most rode on the back of some one else to graduate because just about all the projects are group projects and theres and average or up wards to 10 people a group. And that one person in that entire group that does all the work and the rest just ride on them and the teachers don't care and I met a few of them they really don't care.

From first hand experience I would not hire anyone that comes out of that school Unless I find out in some way that they are ones that do a good job then I would work with them.
I have met a few very few from Full Sail that I have worked with that I would continue to work with, but im not trying to say that they are not out there, just saying from experience they are not that many out there. I have met 5 out of about 200 students that I have worked with that I would work with agian.

This is from personal experience, If you have good luck when working with them by all means keep working with them I am not saying stop I am just letting people know the experiences I have delt with when working with them.

Jack,

I live within blocks of Full Sail and have met several people who attended. One laid the carpet in my packaging design studio and another put a porch on the back of my house. Both had big student loan debts and both had failed to find gainful employment in their desired fields.

One exception to the Full Sail story that I personally know about is a young man who paid his own way thru Full Sail.

He applied himself and studied very hard. After graduation, he couldn't find work for several years. He and another Full Sailer decided to move to Las Vegas on spec. They just packed and went. They wanted to be closer to Hollywood and the movie business.

After working as a line chef to pay the bills, he and his friend finally hooked up someone who liked their work. They are now working full time doing animated graphics for the gaming industry....Slots I think?

The take away being, (1) yes you can, (2) you gotta go where money is being spent on the things you can do well and (3) give the people what they want...In this case, it turned out to be gaming graphics.

The boys I know wanted to work in the movies, but that never happened. The good news is they are working and getting paid.

Financial reallity is a bitch in an an economy collapsing from a decades long, deficit funded sugar rush.

I probably should have taken more time in proof reading my earlier post.
Ill revise it abit to deliever the correct message.

If you have good luck when working with them by all means keep working with them I am not saying stop I am just letting people know the experiences I have delt with when working with them.
As I said my experiences have not been that good when dealing with them so I would not hire anyone that comes out of that school, Unless I find out in some way that they are ones that do a good job then I would work with them.

Probably should have said that I have met a few very few from Full Sail that I have worked with that I would continue to work with, but im not trying to say that they are not out there, just saying from experience they are not that many out there.

I do have an exception to what I said also which I probably should have noted before, the company that I was an extra in, thats in my hi post, they like FullSail alot because they may have the better luck of the draw at getting good workers. They work with the school alot though so they also learn more about who is good and who is not.

But I just haven't had any of that luck, I have met 5 out of about 200 students that I have worked with that I would work with agian. And it has costed way to much to go through that many people to find just 5 people that I will just save the costs and ask around people I know for people that are good.

I do know how hard it is to find work, I want to do movies myself.
Aside from doing no/low budget work I spend alot of time doing photography to pay the bills, and out of the 5 from Full Sail that said I would still work with I know one joined the military because he could not find work, another works at a walmarts photo section, and another does logos for a company and he took a cinematography class.

Welcome to SS, Jack.

Pleased to hear I'm not the only person around who is absolutely obsessed with all things history. Medieval reenactments? God, I wish we had those down here!! ;D

Anyway, hope you enjoy it here and find it the great tool that it really is. The idea is simple... Give your opinions on other scripts and in return, you should get a read from other members.

Can we expect to see a script from you, anytime soon?

Welcome aboard, Jack.

Hope you enjoy the site, a great tool if used correctly. Don't be afraid to jump straight in and leave some feedback on scripts... try to look out for active members though. That means you're more likely to get reads in return.

Have a good one, buddy. :)

We make break away castles out of wood all built in sections that can be peiced together and textured to look like stone or what is wanted, but on a smaller scale. Strong enough where you can have a handful people inside the walls and on top but its no more than like 10 feet high and maybe 100 feet long.
But usually it looks more like a medieval outpost than an actual castle.
