I made it to the finals of the 72 Script Fest.  I have a 1 in 5 chance of winning.

Thanks everyone for your help in honing my skills.  I couldn't have done it without your help.  Especially Jeff.  His direct approach helped me the most.

Well done Jordan, best of luck.

Last five, impressive.

Can we actually see the film? Probably me, but all I got was an announcement??

My script hasn't been filmed yet.

All of the Finalist scripts are available to be used as criteria in the 72 Film Fest which is next month.

Since I'm in the top 5, I hope someone will pick my script to produce, but I don't think there's any guarantee.

Right now there are 6 pro teams, 6 amateur teams, and 6 student teams.  Plus 2 unknown skill level teams.  I hope a pro team chooses my script, but ultimately, I just want to see my work come to life.

If my script does get produced, I'll do everything in my power to let you guys see it.

Congratulations.

I take it the script you're referring to isn't posted on SS.

Correct.  I can post it once the Film Fest is over.

Whoops, my bad. Love to check out the script, once permitted. Well done.

Well done Jordan,

Hope you get first place. Gr8 to see SS members getting recognised.

Maybe we need a thread titled "SUCCESS" and all the SS achievements can be posted on it.

There's already a stickied thread of that nature in the "Collaborative Effort" board, I believe.

Well done, Jordan!  Best of luck.

Hey Jordan.

Congratulations!  Don't really know too much about the 72, so I'll look up what it's about, but I hope it all works out for you!

Congrats, Jordan!

To be honest, I'm not surprised.
I really enjoyed The Bridge.
So, I suspect whatever you've got in the competition is stout too!

Best of luck!

Thank you all for your well wishes.

Unfortunately I wasn't the winner or runner up.  All I know is that I finished in the top 5, which I don't think is too bad for my first real competition.

The film fest is on October 21, so I have to wait until then to post my script on here.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that one of the film teams picks my script.

Once again, thank you all for your help.

I'm happy when I get a vote in an OWC! Finishing as a finalist...man, that's really cool. Just think, not only did some judges like your script, which is hard enough, but they loved it! Very proud achievement. Good luck with the film teams.

Congrats anyway! I still remember your Sheisse - it's wonderfully funny. Actually I read all of yours posted here and can't wait to read this one as well.

It's a shame and you're probably a little disappointed but you made it to the last five, and that's fantastic!

Have too agree here !!! I think top 5 out off probably a hundred or more screenplays is a great result an I would be happy with that.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed but like you said, I made it to the top five and I have a chance that my script will get produced.

If I get to see my words come to life, then I'll consider this a success.

My script, "Made For Each Other", was chosen by the professional team, Crowded Elevator Pictures, and they actually made the film.

They won three awards:  Best Sound/Music, Best Pro, and Best of the Fest.  They got first place.

Here's a link to the film:  http://vimeo.com/51886793

I highly recommend entering this script competition if they do it next year.  The script half of the festival was new this year, but they're talking about doing it again next year.  It only cost $17 and you have the chance of actually seeing your work come to life.

Once again, thank you all for your help in honing my skills.
