Monopoly was your idea or the other projects?

Did you have a Monopoly short on the site?

A monopoly movie has been in the works for almost 4 years.

I dedicated wines, whiskeys, vodkas and don’t know how many mojitos, women, cigarillos and sleepless nights (dark!), writing my shorts for nothing?

The thing is, when you have a good idea, chances are someone else has or will be thinking it also. It happens all the time. I recently wrote a short called No Experience Necessary(it was posted here for one of our challenges) ...even had a couple that was going to film it, then all the sudden I google a while back because filmmakers have this way of disappearing, and one just like mine, with the same title(of course the story has been amped up and changed a bit) is the winner of the Atlanta Underground Film Festival. Sooooooo, what I'm saying is...maybe they did ...maybe they din't but this is why it's important to REGISTER your work and IF you let anyone film it(especially for free) GET A CONTRACT. :)

Things get taken sometimes... BUT if it's a good idea, chances are several people are thinking it and TRYING to write it ....so get WRITING :) B4 someone beats you to it!!

Bert, help me out here?  (0:

Tongue planted firmly in cheek here. Once when lamenting the fact that either a Candyland or Battleship movie was in the works, I said that I called dibs on Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Since my last name is not any derivation of Hasbro, the idea could not be stolen from me... (0;

Lol.  This kind of reminded me of this trailer:  It doesn't get real funny until towards the end:

The movie industry is hungry for any recognizable property and nothing is safe. As soon as one board game came out, all the other ones are suddenly fair game as well. Only a matter of time before someone figures out Rummikub: The Motion Picture. That one, like many others before and after, I'm sure, would involve a championship tournament of Rummikub players (and I'm sure there is such a thing out there somewhere) who backstab others to get on top only to lose to someone with honor. Anything is a movie already written. I'm just grateful the BBC rapidly shot down any rumor of a Hollywood Doctor Who movie reboot. Nothing is sacred to these people. And there are so many good, original scripts out there.

LOL!

I recall the Hungry Hungry Hippos quip, Anthony! ;D

Of course, a cartoon would be the safe way to go, but...

I say how about a rom/com about The Biggest Loser rival contestants! ;D

Hungry Hungry Hippo's movie?  Surely not lol.

I remember Clue which was based on Cluedo I think?

Why not:
Mouse Trap
Snakes and Ladders
Ludo
Yartzee

But forget about Subbuteo, I'm writing that now lol.

*sigh* the sad thing, no matter how much we 'artists' lambast the choice, is that the over / under on a HHH gross is probably $100MM...

I can't wait for them to announce the Checkers movie!

I'm sure Hollywood could sell the American public TOSS ACROSS; 90 minutes of two giants throwing bean bags at a tic-tac-toe board....

Quake has to to defend the intergalactic mining outpost against an invasion by Quisp.  I can't wait.

Liam can just teach the Hippos how to be one with the force (provided the Hippos have enough of the midi-chlorines (or whatever)) in side their big grey hides.

Ben Kingsley should play Unce Pennybags. Or Anthony Hopkins. Joel Grey would be good, but nobody knows him these days. :P
