For a while, I've thought I've seen Ian McDiarmid doing double duty in Return of the Jedi. Obviously, he's the Emperor, but I also think he's a Death Star controller.

I can't get a positive ID on the controller, but one site suggests that this is the guy (Jonathan Oliver):




Another actor from the same scene isn't listed anywhere, but he's Glyn Baker, who was in The Wild Geese with Roger Moore and The Living Daylights, as one of the three OO-agents taking part in the training exercise at Gibraltar.

I know my Star Wars as much as anyone and I know for a fact that Ian McDiarmid is R2D2's father.

I"ve heard that Harrison Ford wanted to not only play Hans Solo, but also a stormtrooper in Return of the Jedi.

The rumor has it that he played Stormtrooper TK - 8710



It's the one in white furthest to the left hand corner - sorry I couldn't get a better picture of him.

I never really believed all the stories but don't you think it's funny that you never saw Hans Solo and Stormtrooper TK - 8710 in the same scene together...makes you think, right?

The storm troopers were actually played by the Rockettes
