I've written the first part of an intended web series and would like to know if there is anyone who might be interested in writing some of the episodes. You can PM me and we can begin a dialogue on furthering the story to expand the universe for the main character.
Thanks
Jeremy

What type of web series is it? Is it a comedy, drama etc?

Only if the intention is to actually do them and work with the writer(s) as opposed to giving them a story bible or plan, go to it...and then never touch base with them again. It's one of the reasons why I stopped writing Icarus Rising. I thought it was going somewhere, looking promising...Others wanted to come in and write an ep. I don't hear a peep from the person who asked me to write in the first place. In the end, I liked the excercise, but I felt like I wasted my time

While I understand you are not this person, I cannot stess this enough. Whoever you choose to help you on the project, please make sure there's a source of commication and/or networking in some fashion. It does not have to be every day. It does not have to be once a week. But it has to be at some point, collaboration and communication.

I agree with Darren,

I'm collaborating on a project at the moment and communication is definitely the key. So far, regular emails and the occasional phone-call has seen the screenplay come along relatively smoothly.

I can understand the apprehension, and I certainly see the need for caution. So far, I have one writer willing to work with me. I have exchanged several emails with him and have read some of his work. His writing style is not much different than my own, so I think he'll work nicely.
My intention is to get them filmed this coming summer and have them on the net by the end of the year.
The main reason I'm doing a web series is to showcase the writers, get their names out there. This really isn't about me. I would love to see good things happen for the novice writer. On average, it takes about five years for a screenwriter to get anything optioned, at least, that's what I've heard.
I'm hoping to truly make this happen.

Irish eyes, it's an action?sci-fi super hero series. I'm doing my darndest to get more accomplished to move the project further along. I have another writer helping me now. We're basically bouncing ideas off of one another, fleshing out the characters backstory. We've got some good stuff, but it's going to require a ton of rewrites on my part.
