Wow...are you fucking kidding me?  For reals?

Just terrible.  Simply terrible film making and writing in every way imaginable.

Completely unbelievable on every level.  Downright silly much of the time.  To think any person would act like any person in this film is very humorous.  The twit who wrote this, David Louka, whom I've skewered before over the shitfest Dream House, must be a real moron, living in a box somewhere who has zero interaction with the real world.  Just shocking how fucking lame and stupid this thing is!

OK..sorry.  I'm more calm now.  Amazingly, this thing turned a profit.  Shot on some cheapass Techniscope format to look like an old cheap horror film (which it sure as shit does) for somewhere between $7 and $10 Million, it made almost $40 Million WW.  It shouldn't have made a dime.  I guess Jennifer Lawrence's presence may have saved the day.  Or maybe the weak PG 13 rating helped and drew in a bunch of idiot kids who thought they were going to a scary movie.  Who knows.  This is garbage.

This "idea" has been hanging around Hollywood since 2003 when a different writer and director were attached.  I doubt it could have been any worse, but my bigger concern is why anyone would be interested in such a piece of shit idea?  Just silly and ludicrous.

You know what?  I have a way of "knowing" within mere seconds if a movie has a shot at being any good and within seconds on this view, I knew I was in for a rough night.  The movie makes about zero sense first of all, when you think about the central idea and concept.  It doesn't look good, either.  It has a cheap, crappy look that detracts from the overall film.  The acting and writing is just atrocious across the board.  The actions and reactions of the characters is so poor, it sometimes comes off like a cartoon.  Really shitty.

There is some tension and jump scares and even a decent twist, but everything else is so God Awful that by the time anything worth remembering happens, this carcass is already deep underground, but still smelling like shit and attracting flies from miles away.

Poorest character actions and reactions - Jennifer Lawrence's "Elissa"

What a horrible movie. The acting was abysmal and I love me some Elisabeth Shue but man she seemed robotic. Jennifer Lawrence looked out of it as well. The opening scene had me laughing out loud and this is supposed to be a horror, not a comedy. I could get into the movie in greater detail but then I would be spoiling it for the rest of you. Haha

Not worth watching unless you have nothing else to do. Little scares, bad acting.

This film was pretty bad.  It was not scary at all, and pretty predictable.

This is the kind of movie that you have on in the background while you are doing work on your computer and you just want some background noise so that the house is not too quiet.

I had a very hard time getting past the first act of this one.
Clearly, a filler thriller made pre-X-Men Lawrence.
Then it held until after Hunger Games to capitalize on her name.

Well, they should've just held it back. Period. ;D
Dull and incoherent. Not a single logical character in sight.
And jump scares that my grandmother would laugh at.

Just watched this and I was appalled this actually was a real Hollywood theatrical release. Seriously!!!

The script could easily have been found here at SS. I know some people here that can write much better scripts than this one.

A horror? I don't think so. Everything is told to us before it happens so there is no suspense or anything.

I love Lawrence, but this was so bad it should give everyone, even beginners, BIG hopes of selling a spec script.  :-/
