Hey guys,
As you can see I'm Linda and have recently joined. I've only just started writing mainly western fan fiction and not sure if I am in the right place, but am willing and able to hopefully improve my writing skills.
I'm from Sydney,Australia and hope to get to know some of you soon.

Hey, Linda, welcome to the boards.

This is a great place to improve your writing. But, to get feedback, you have to give feedback in return. Quid pro quo.

Jump in and read some scripts... you don't have to go into great detail, just let the writers know if you liked their script or not and why. The more feedback you give, the more likely people will read your script in return.

Looking forward to reading some of your work.

Will

This is a great site to hone your skills as a writer.  A few already mentioned how to get reads around here so any opinions on any scripts is usually appreciated, especially from regular members.

Looking forward to reading some of your stuff.  Take care and welcome to the family.

Hello Linda,

Welcome to SS, it s a great place to learn.

Remember to read other scripts and review - don't be afraid to say what to think, even if you feel new to it all.

Also use the Portal button, shows what's the latest threads.

A good place to start are the One Week Challenges - OWC - currently posted on the portal.

All the best.

Hi Linda. I just recently finished my first western. A lot of fun writing those, with all those cool "westernisms".

Good luck with your project and welcome to the site.

Hey Linda, welcome to SS.

Westerns seem to be in short supply here so you could just boost the thread.

If you stick it out, you'll learn a great deal here.  There are some great writers here and they will help you along the way, in their own special way lol.  Some comments may seem harsh but everyone here is only trying to help.

Wow, that's seems a but harsh, i wasn't trying to scare you off....honest lol.

Enjoy your time here.

Must be something in the SS water - the western are coming out of the woodwork. I have nearly finished my horror/western 'Fort Hell'.

Hope you enjoy it on here, Linda

Welcome aboard, Linda.

Another Aussie, huh?  Oh boy...   ;D ;D ;D ;D  Just kidding.  You Aussies rock.

Don't worry too much about "the rules" - they're meant to be broken.  Just don't break "the writing rules".  Only I am allowed to authorize the breaking of such rules.

Lots of cool peeps here.  Hope you enjoy!

Hello Linda,

So wonderful to meet. I'm from Canada and I love the mixed multitude we have here on S.S. I guess we've returned to the state of Babylon and we're having a right nice party. :)

Welcome Linda!  Hope to read some of your stuff--even though we rarely see much in the form of westerns around here.  But we love new stuff and hope you'll get into the swing of things by providing reviews of your own.

Almost everyone here is pretty nice and very willing to help with reviews and suggestions---also make sure you check out some of the other boards, especially the screenwriting class forum--I learned a great deal just from reading postings on that board--welcome aboard!!
