Howdy all,

Since I intend on being an active member of this community I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself.

My name is Michael, I live in Victoria, Australia and am new to the world of "proper" screenwriting.  I originally started writing as a time filler a couple of years ago, and like many a new writer I didn't know much about format, beats, spine of the story etc.  Figured all I had to do was write a good story and she'll be right - I couldn't have been more wrong.

Having attempted to write a full screenplay in this time, I found many a draft ended up in the bin.  It was only until a couple of months ago where I started to take a serious interest in screenwriting. Since then I have managed to read a couple of very helpful books, scripts of various genres and found this site (I've been scared to post).

I've also finished my first full screenplay which I hope to post on the site once scripts are again being accepted.  I look forward to reading as many scripts as I can and hope I can provide helpful feedback and participate in site comps when I can.

A big thank you to Toby_E for taking a script exchange with me and providing excellent feedback - Hope my notes were as helpful  ;D

This should have been my first port of call before asking anyone to look at my script, so with that:
1. thank you.
2. I apologise.
3. I'm putting it down to being excited about finishing my script.

I'm gonna put an end to this essay and say I look forward to being part of this community.

Where abouts in Victoria u live? I'm from Kyabram, near Shepp originally. Follow the Sainters in the footy.

Always good to have another Aussie on board. Should be able to take over soon, lol

Welcome to the boards, Michael.

SS is a great place to learn the ropes of screenwriting and meet some awesome people. It seems you already know how things work around here, so I won't rant on about that. Just enjoy writing and meeting new folks.
