SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Screenwriting Class  /  How to Format a shot of a Computer Screen?

Hey, I'm in the midst of writing a screenplay and I want to open it with a shot of a webpage with a little voice over introduction. I was wondering how this could be formatted. What would be the appropriate slug and do I just describe the visual in the description afterwards? The shot is important but brief, it doesn't take place on anyones computer in particular.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd just write it as a mini slug and describe the visuals. I'm not an expert but that's how I'd write it.

COMPUTER SCREEN

Google search results page for "where to buy the snuggie".

HARRY (V.O.)
What kind of person have I become? I didn't want to end up this way...

You could try

ANGLE ON

COMPUTER SCREEN BLAH BLAH BLAH

remembering to put

BACK TO SCENE

once this shot is over.

Insert computer screen image:

Describe what's on the screen...

Back to scene:
