This really flew under the radar and I'm not sure why, as IMO, it's a very good movie that works on all levels.

$12 Million budget with Richard Gere, Susan Sarandan, and a host of talent, this only brought in $8 Million at the NABO, and another $28 Million overseas.

I wasn't sure what I was in for when I sat down to check it out a few weekends ago with my girlfriend, but I was quickly engaged...and impressed.  Gere is great as a billionaire who's gotten himself in some trouble. The supporting cast is also quite good and the story is unique.  This is somewhat of a mystery, the way it plays out and it stays interesting throughout.  One of the rare scripts/movies where it's not crystal clear how things will end up.

It's far from perfect, but it's so much better than most of the crap out there.  Gere proves once again that he really is a presence onscreen.  Writer/Director Nicholas Jarecki delivers here and this movie deserves far better than it received by the masses.

Grade - B+
