Christopher Coppola's 1994 "classic" - Deadfall.

O...M...G!!!!  Seriously?  Just laugh out loud terrible in every way imaginable.

Nic Cage gives a performance for the ages.

This thing is so bad that I honestly thought it must be a comedy or spoof, but after watching the featurette, I knew it was for reals, as everyone was serious, but obviously lying out their assholes about what a great flick it was.

If you're feeling down or blue, rent this and you can't help but bust out laughing for minutes on end. Hell, just check out a youtube excerpt to see CAge in his wig, acting like a complete bufoon.

CLASSIC!!!!

Okay, Jeff. Let's have a serious conversation... have you seen The Room yet?
Posted by: Dreamscale (Guest), November 7th, 2013, 6:19pm; Reply: 3
I still haven't seen The Room, as I forgot about it, but I know of it.

The thing is, this abortion cost $10 Million in 1994 and had a very strong cast, but missed on literally every possible thing imaginable and looks like a DTV that cost south of $1 Million.

Epically abysmal...

Ray, anything Kaufman is behind is a pisser and doesn't count.

Coppola thought he was making a noir twisty thriller, but instead it came off like it was intended to be a pisser.

You seriously need to get on that, dude. Probably before you watch anything else. You don't know how gloriously, transcendently bad a movie can be before you've seen it.

Eh. I think I'll pass. The whole setup reminds me of Trespass, which was so bad, it made me angry. And I watched it because it was supposed to be bad. That shit was... traumatic.

I've also seen half of The Wicker Man. That might be one too many bad Nicolas Cage movies for one lifetime.

Cage is at his all time worst here...trust me...just unreal...

Off the top of my head the only Cage movie I've liked was 'Matchstick Men.' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325805/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Holy crap, hadn't even heard of this before, but after checking the highlights, I am both intrigued and repulsed!

Oh, it's THIS movie... okay, maybe that's worth a look.

That's the one, guys.  Unreal...absolutely unreal, adn the real scary thing is that every single performance, by actors that are good and even great, is pure crap beyond belief.

See it to believe it.

Has anyone watched the YT vid of Cage just blowing up, "over-acting"? haha it's hilarious.

Not the bees! Cage is probably one of the most unreliable actors working today. The guy won an Oscar a year after Deadfall, wtf.

The director needs to keep Nic Cage on a short leash. If you let him off the chain, you get Deadfall, Vampire's Kiss, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, The Wicker Man and on and on and on...

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly, Jeff.

You'll bail on page 1 of a 5 page script.  Yet you'll watch the entirety of this Nicholas Cage masterpiece?

I couldn't believe what I was watching.  I knew within seconds it was going to suck, long before Nic entered the [ic.

It was a rental, so I had to continue!!!

On the whole, bad films far more entertaining than bad reads :)

Oh!  I didn't know it was a rental.  That changes everything.

Good point, but I can breeze through a 5 page "bad read" and at least come up with a clever way of critiquing the script.  To force yourself to watch an atrocity like this takes willpower beyond my comprehension.

I have willpower!!!

Remember, we had 49 scripts to read in the OWC, so yes, as soon as I knew I wasn't gong to be pleased, I baled, in hopes of giving the better written scripts their opportunity.

A movie like this is something you don't come across very often.  I've said it many times before, but IMO, it's very important to watch movies that utterly fail, as there's so much to learn.

In this thing, even if you completely take Nic Cage out of the equation, it's still a miss on every level, as the writing is just so poor all the way around.

Surely it can’t be worse than Howard The Duck?

Watch the youtube segments above and see for yourself...

It's a tricky thing with calling movies the "worst," because I'd take Deadfall over Torque, Stealth, Catwoman, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Covenant, the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, The Last Airbender, I Love You Man, Saws 2 through 7 or whatever...

But those movies are still all "better" made. Deadfall is ludicrous. I'm glad you mentioned this little gem, Jeff, because it's definitely one people should see, haha.

I think Nicolas Cage is one of the greatest actors of our time (I'm not kidding). Always daring, always original, always memorable, usually hilarious; in short, always entertaining. People can say he's a bad actor all they want -- what criteria for "good" acting does he not meet by being the above things?

Here is the Harry Hanrahan montage that someone mentioned above. Tell me that this is not the legacy of a great, innovative entertainer:

No one has mentioned Lara Croft: Tomb Raider yet.

Or The Phantom Menace.

They would be up there among the worst ever films on anyone's list, lol

Might be another Nick Cage gem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seeking_Justice#Reception

Budget $30 million
Box office $12,355,798

""Seeking Justice is nothing more than a typical potboiler with another phoned-in performance from Nicolas Cage." The film earned a Razzie Award nomination for Cage as Worst Actor."

Saw it...not nearly as bad. Not good, by any mens. but not terrible.

I thought troll 2 had the honors of being called the worst movie of all time. Didn't it win an award or something, or was voted worst movie?

I've stopped watching nick cage movies for some time now. Somewhere along this past decade, I started to like him and not like him at the same time. I think I'm at the point where I don't like him.

But that losing his shit video...haha. It doesn't feel like a nick Cage movie if he's not at one point snapping the fuck out...lol

Troll 2 was rad! Man, I love that movie.

But to me the worst movie ever is Birdemic. I don't think anything can touch it... not even Plan 9 or Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Saw it. Total shit.

Bland, cliche, stupid, and played completely straight. Nicolas Cage's performance, as terrible as it is (and it is terrible) is the only reason to even think about seeing this but is absolutely in no way representative of what the rest of it is like. The guy's in a whole 'nother movie altogether. He's also not in this one for very long. There's still 40 excruciating minutes left after he makes his exit.

Everything not Cage-related is basically a catastrophic attempt to make a legitimate throwback noir film. Everything single thing about it fails.

It is. At least Howard The Duck gets you worked up and angry (and occasionally creeped out). There's even a couple of laughs here and there to be had.

This coming from someone who considers Howard The Duck among the worst ever.

Caught a montage of Nic's performance in this (thanks to this thread.) W.T.F?!?

Seriously.
