Surprised there's no thread for this.

I enjoyed the original, even though I'm not a comedy guy.  I thought the sequel was definitely a step down, but i actually still enjoyed it for what it was.

Now we have the "hopefully" final installment in Part III.

Wow, what a shocking dissapointment in pretty much every way imaginable.  I mean, seriously, everything that made this franchise what it is, has been left out, replaced by some truly dark and unfunny scenes, jokes, and overall tone.

I honestly don't know where the $103 Million budget went here, but I'll take a wild guess and say that everyone involved cashed in on salaries.

Having Ken Jeong basically be the main star here was a terrible idea, and making him such a badass was ludicrous.

Killing a giraffe early on and having its head lopped off and stuck in a windshield was again, just not in good taste, IMO.

But maybe the simple biggest fuckup from Todd Phillips and crew was the storyline, plot, whatever you want to call it.  This had nothing to do with the original premise and what it did have to do with was complete horseshit that was neither funny, original, or anything that any fan of the series was hoping for.

Sure, there are some funny moments, but this is mostly a complete waste of 100 minutes. In fact, for me, the funniest scene was as the credits rolled, and our boys are waking up from yet another hangover.  Hopefully a few aspirin will end this new hangover quickly, so we don't have to spend anymore time with this bumbling bunch.

Hey Jeff

I agree with just about everything you said. I too loved the original. I don't think it's a coincidence that Part II and especially Part III were not a patch on the original, given that director Todd Phillips chose to bring in his own writers for the sequels rather than keep the scribes of the original on-board?!
