Congrats to Breanne.  Her script A Day with Death has been filmed. Check out the official trailer.

A Day with Death - Official Trailer # 1 (HD) from asurftv on Vimeo.

A cantankerous sixty-five-year-old woman has a few things to do before she goes and Death will just have to hold off. Along the way the two become unlikely companions.

Interestingly enough, it turns out that this particular Reaper is a tall young lady whom Margaret quickly nicknames “Kulapo.” Being the charming lady that she is, Margaret convinces Kulapo to accompany her through the town for one day – tying up “loose ends.” Along the way, they develop a bond…

Haven't noticed the concept of "death" in living form in fiction made in the past decade. Glad to see it's still around, always have found it interesting. Can't exactly pinpoint why, but that concept itself seems to be a much better fit being filmed in Africa rather than the West for example. Perhaps because there are some really interesting takes/beliefs from certain tribes and nations dating back years on death originating from Africa. The trailer looks good, throw me a nod as well when there's any news of whether this can be seen in full. Congratulations on the success! :)

Death is the focus of many of my shorts. I'm looking forward to seeing this when it is released. Good luck with it.

Thanks, DS and Dustin. I appreciate the support!

DS, the script wasn't written with the intention that it would be filmed in Africa or with any particular culture in mind. It was written as a sort of tribute to both of my grandmothers. I was thrilled that an African filmmaker wanted to produce the script. I tend to deal with universal themes, so it was exciting for me to find that something I wrote could reach across cultural lines.

I know the director is putting together BTS features and getting the film ready for festivals. I'll keep everyone informed as more information becomes available.

Thanks, everyone! :)

Wow, exciting.

I think it's brilliant to be filmed in Africa - it's a great look.

I hope it all works out well for them...and yourself
