Hi, I'm new-ish - Print Topic

Hey, guys. My name is Chris, and I'm new-ish here. (-ish because some of you might be familiar with my Chupacabra horror screenplay.)

I've been writing scripts ever since I was a kid in the 90s, nevermind the fact that they were all first-draft manuscripts on doodle paper before finally I got my first computer. :P I took a detour into (rock) music (playing keyboards and guitar) before getting back into the swing of things. I'm wanting to go down the writer-director route, and also score my early movies (you know, the whole John Carpenter thing! :D)

I hope to get advice and feedback on my scripts, and to check out other scripts -- pro, produced, classic, unproduced or amateur.

Don't take this in a bad way - just some useful information in case you don't know.

The best way to get reads is to be active on the site and also actively give your feedback and thoughts on other people's scripts. If others see that you're active they'll be a lot more likely to chime in and those whose script you've commented on might just feel that they owe you a read. Quid pro quo.. or something like that. ;)

Just Rememeber to read and review other folks scripts, that way you learn and become a part. It's give and take around here.

I'm pretty new myself and wasn't too long ago that I made a similar thread, introducing myself.

If you get involved with reviewing and writing you'll love the boards. Some very helpful people on here.

I'm sure you'll love it here. I've just recently come back to Simply and it's great to be back. The people here are very friendly (well most lol), and very helpful.
