When robots try to review movies, animated insanity tends to happen...



Welcome to our new web series dedicated to pop culture and movie mash-ups.
It's been a long road through production with my partner, Ben Liska.
But if you want to break into the film industry, you have to make you own path.
I've learned it's not enough to have a spec and a pilot under your arm anymore...
You need a web series too! Content is king! People want to click links, not turn pages.

I think it hits a lot of the dry humor & randomness the genre's known for. Everything looked and felt great.

I had a hard time warming up to this robot duo, mainly because they weren't actually reviewing the movies, rather the movies were coming for them. I do think more balance could result in the reviews/film characters co-existing. Pink shoes & poodles & lasers - funny. However...

The cat spa bit was classic! Hilarious! Every single cat picture was a great visual. Anal bleaching! Very funny stuff. Felt like I was watching Adult Swim. Good work.

I gave this a watch, it was amusing. Love the animations. I wonder will the robots actually give insights on the films or will it just all be done for humour?

I think the robot voices could be more distinct, less familiar and the music could be a lot better. You know, cooler, funkier, hipper, more movie theme-ish ;) It's too children's show-ish right now but perhaps that's the point. However, given the occasional low brow gag and general nature of a show laden with pop culture and movie references, I figured it was more for a teen audience.

Ha, I think most viewers thought of Bane straight away too when we see Max in that muzzle.

Now I'm looking forward to Linklater's "Lego Boyhood" ;)

Great insight into using the reviews to give the robots more character.
My partner wasn't convinced actual movie reviews would be well received.

We actually recorded the reviews and all.
But my partner cut them out in the editing phase.
Maybe a director's cut is in order. Thanks for the advice!

Glad you overall liked the show.

We did record reviews, but my partner hated the way he sounded.
So, he wanted to excise the review portion to see how the skits stood on their own,
Looking back, I believe not having the reviews alienated the robots from folks.
