Another wrestling great dead long before his time, at 61.

This guy was a class act and 1 of the more entertaining I can remember.  He crossed over into movies and did a great job in They Live (1988).

You'll be missed!

I was shocked to hear about it as well, especially since we lost Dusty Rhodes not too long ago.

I'm expecting a dedication on RAW and SMACKDOWN.

Bret Hart VS Roddy Piper at WM 8 was a classic, and Roddy Piper was apart of the inaugral Wrestlemania also.

It's always been like this in the business of professional wrestling, so maybe I should've expected it.

If you're not aware, Max, check out Roddy's IMDB...he was in alot of flicks and many still in the making currently, which will obviously have to be shelved.

He seemed like a cool peep for sure.

Not a Wrestling fan, so will take your word(s) for it!

But did think he was great in 'They Live', I'd chew some bubblegum in his honour, but I'm all out ;-)

Respect.

Roddy was the best heel ever.

RIP Piper.

Heaven had better have some bubble gum...

Oh man, I heard about this yesterday.

It was awful.  Piper was the best heel of all time.  Do you know in the same year, he was voted most popular and most hated?  I don't think that's ever been done before or since.

He was truly one of the greats.  He should have won more titles.

And I can only think of 1 wrestler that ever beat him in a feud and that was Greg "the Hammer" Valentine.  What a violent feud that was.  Oh, the good old days.  He was extreme wrestling before there was extreme wrestling...

Rousey knocked out that bitch Bethe and dedicated the win to Roddy!

Lots of tribute stuff up on WWE's youtube channel as well, so check it out if you have time.
