Damn, it's good. I mean, really, really good.

I'll admit I'm biased, I was in my teens when N.W.A. blew up and I remember pumping that shit all through high school. Later it was Cube, then Dre and Snoop, yeah, so this movie really sent my down memory lane, which - of course - can color your perception.

It's the classic tale of how money changes everything, and - unlike the music - it's not groundbreaking in any way but it's well put together and the structure is tight. The performances are good for the most part (Paul Giamatti as Jerry Heller is exceptionally good - not surprisingly), Jason Mitchell (as Eazy-E) is probably the one that shows the most range in terms of acting, whereas Corey Hawkins and O'Shea Jackson Jr. (as Dre and Cube respectively) at least get the job done.

At 2h 20+ mins, I actually thought it was too short. But like I said, I'm biased.

Spotify do a similar thing. Every Monday they create a playlist based on what you've been listening to. Great way to find new music.

Judging from your mix there, you seem to have a good, varying taste. I'm a BIG Immortal Technique fan!

On topic: I'll definitely be checking this movie out. Trailer hooked me in and I'm a fan of NWA. Also, been listening to Dre's new album a lot recently. Enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

Bought a Lennon shirt today. The one with him in the NYC T shirt looking immaculate as always. Thought of you when I did it. I must get out more. I'm sure I could add something about buying a ticket to ride, but that'd be rubbish.

Looking forward to this film. No doubt I'll feel suitably far too white and awkward while watching it. And so I should. Hell of a band. Films like these are difficult to pull off. I hope they manage it.
