I look through these threads daily. I kind of feel bad for Anthony. He makes these threads, I look through them, I used them. Yet, I don't contribute. Nor does anyone else.  I don't go out searching for ads, nor do I have any desire to do so.

I know it's pointless to say this, as nothing productive can come of it but I just wanted to get it out that I respect your unselfish work, Anthony.

Cheers, mate!

Thanks Demento appreciated... hopefully someone who uses them will get something made... and hopefully they'll let me know - be a good validation of doing it ;-)

Ditto. I usually have a day every few months or so where I will mass email producers, but nothing like this. These are real opportunities. I also track my emails so I know when they've been opened, which is a feature I really couldn't live without now. I was shocked at just how many of my emails to producers actually went unread. Then there are those that read them over and over again, so it seems that they really think about it before rejecting it, which is nice.

If anyone got an email from me that looked like spam, it was done deliberately by me so that you could track your own emails.

There is a chance... a good chance... that the makers of the program would have access to your emails, which is a major downside to me as I don't like giving out private information, but I don't have anything to hide, so it's fine. The same thing happens whenever you download an app' to your phone or 'sign up using Facebook.' Also, unless you use 'Do Not Track' type of software, companies like Facebook follow you around the web using cookies even when you're not logged into Facebook. Ebay do it too. They like to know what you're up to so they can better target you with ads.

Anyway, I'm digressing again... nice work, Anthony! I'll be sure to let you know if anything comes of it.

I used to do the same thing. But I found out that I'm way too curious and like you would check to see who read what, how many times. It started to be time consuming and not productive at all. In the end if they respond, they respond, that's what matters. I found the rest to be a waste of time and would turn into a weird hobby. The temptation to check who opened it and how many times was big. I would make fake movie posters and attach them to the email, to not only see who opened the email but if they clicked on the poster link. So I would know if they actually went through the email, reading it or just popped it open.

Also, yes, a LOT of producers, production companies don't even open these types of emails.

Dustin - out of interest, how/what do you use to track your submissions?

Demento - agree it can be a distraction if you aren't careful... guess it's trying to find a balance!
