Hi guys. Wasn't sure where to put this so lobbed it here. I thought it might be interesting for perps to see an indie production Aussie style, funded by the public.

This is the trailer for a film about the last 6 months of the life of Australian bushranger and outlaw Ben Hall, who roamed central New South Wales in the 1860's. The film maker began the project as a labour of love and raised money with the cloud funding thing. It started as a 40 minute film and they hoped to raise $75,000. Ended up getting $114,000 so they were able to increase the film to feature length and the cast and crew are filming more now for release next year.

It was filmed in the same areas where the real events took place. I think it looks great! Very authentic for the money involved. There are some production diaries vids on YouTube showing the detail the crew went to.

One of the members of Ben Hall's gang was Canadian born John Gilbert. He is technically recognised as history's most prolific criminal with involvement in over 600 crimes. He was killed by police - like most bushrangers - aged 23 in 1865, 8 days after Ben Hall was shot by police. As a kid I grew up reading about these guys.

Anyway I thought Pia might be interested in seeing the production values of a low budget movie. Cheers all!

This is one of the production vids. I love the keenness of the crew, out in the bush, in the elements. It really brings an authentic feel to it.

Just watched the teaser, wow... If this is really low budget crowd funded... my respect. I don't see a difference to a manufactured movie. I believe especially period films are very hard to do on low budget. You need a lot of research, and love for details to make this happen. There must have been a lot of hard work put into this.
