Hey all,

Looking for a deal or a creative way to get Movie Magic budgeting software. I can't really afford to invest in the latest version at the moment, and I'm not a student so I can't get the educational version.

Been keeping up with all of your progress from afar, and it's good to see so many of you succeeding.

thanks, AJR

Thanks Anthony. Need MM though because I have an .mbd file that a line producer sent me a while ago and I need to make changes to it.

If a producer wants you to look at it then maybe he should pay you enough so that you can afford the software he demands. Just tell him you can't open the file and to send you a .pdf or even a txt file that you can convert in another screenwriting program.

Otherwise, there is always the torrent option. Risky if you use a windows machine.

Dustin,

Thanks, but I'M the producer... (0:

I did a quick search for you, mate... and there's nothing. Trouble is that .mbd is also a file extension used by other software applications, so even were a converter available it would likely not be for movie magic files.

It shouldn't be much of a problem to get a .pdf though, just ask the writer.

Dustin,

Thanks for the search!

However, once again - I AM the writer... (0:

Here's what - I have a film in development, and I have both a PDF and an .mbd version of the budget, and I need to make changes to the ATL numbers.

I think it's silly to spend $600 just to change a few salaries though.

I could get the line producer to do it however it's a favor every time I ask, so I wanted the ability to play with the numbers without involving her.
