"The Tall Man" has passed on at 89, but he appears to have lived a very full life.

Loved the Phantasm films, hopefully he'd finished filming his bits of the new one!

RIP

Another legend, albeit on a smaller and different scale than Bowie. Original Phantasm is a classic, and Phantasm II is probably my favorite cheesy, blatantly Hollywood-ized sequel to a classic, aside from maybe Gremlins 2. Regardless, the Tall Man always brought a consistent sense of dread, gravitas, and strangeness to a series of films that were honestly full of a lot of silly shit, for better or for worse. Schrimm also had a handful of fun, varied cameos in Coscarelli's other films, namely his Masters of Horror entry, Incident on and off a Mountain Road. RIP.

And he did it without a hockey mask or a leather-face or any makeup or whatsoever.

Just him and his presence.

While pretty much his only role, he well and truly owned it like nobody else could.

I am also a huge fan of the Phantasm films, for sure.

Always liked him. Even though thought I never liked the Phantasm movies.

RIP.
