Sean - I know you're pretty busy - but I'm seconding Pia on this! My reason for personally liking the list better. The order of the other OWC list shifts due to the post entered into a thread, right? That makes it difficult for folks like me to keep track of what's been read, and what hasn't. Blame my memory, if necessary... :)

This was a huge surprise for me! Seriously. By the comments, I figured mine would land in the middle somewhere.

I liked this OWC, so thank you Sean. It was a little smaller in size and I personally prefer that. Maybe that's why the quality was higher too? It wasn't promoted outside of the boards, as far as I know. It's fine to get new writers over here, but a bit annoying when they just drop a script off and never read or never intend to be part of the community. It reminded me a little bit of "the good old days" as far as the OWCs go.

Good job running it all Sean. Great theme and challenge.

Now it looks like a have a couple more to read. :)

Dames and Games... It's Only Words

It's always great to write 2 scripts on 2 different ends of the spectrum ;D

One was a poignant story about a beautiful relationship which sadly came to an end... the other was about scrabble and had no dialogue. ;D ;D ;D

Seriously though I was challenged within a challenge by the missus to write a short with no dialogue and she literally played scrabble in front of me for inspiration. I know it needs chopped down a lot... but easily filmed.

Dames and games wrote between 11:00 - 2 in the morn (Friday) and it shows ;D
I just needed to get a comedy in just because... ;D

The story itself, the hell if I know. Trump was on the news at the time of writing ;D;D;D

Congrats to the winners and runner up. As a NKOTB I gained so much, not just from the excellent analysis of my entry, the feedback from all entries. I did read them all and commented on most I think.

In the past week or two I have written a few more shorts and this OWC has probably aided my development more than ever before in terms of format and style.

Great work everyone involved, and I want to especially thank everyone who read mine, and also those who were kind enough to comment.

Great OWC Sean/Don, all your time and effort is truly appreciated! As well, an awesome job by Dave, Tim, Bill, Pia!

Overall, there was quite a few scripts I really liked in this batch... oodles of clever, funny, surreal, what-have-you. It made for a potpourri of interesting and strange.

Ah yes, Johnny... it would appear you got into the modelling glue prior to this challenge as well, lol, but... that's what makes writing these OWC's all the rage; just losing control and running with whatever comes to mind...

I haven't been on this site in a long time and this script was the first I've written in about four years, so was just hoping to shake off some rust. The fact it was so well received was equally encouraging and surprising.

Hey, if anyone would like an in-depth review, feel free to ask.  When I had to review all of them, I didn't really have a chance to write a 5 page review.

As always, if anyone wants to help me with mine, I'm always up for advice.

I was glad to be a part of this OWC.  Glad to be back.  I just got the hands-free software, so, I'm really happy!!

You do raise an interesting point, Dan. When we sign on as members, we select a user name rather than our real name. I am assuming serving a desire to remain anonymous if we choose. Posting the real names here kind of defeats that. Doesn't bother me personally, but I don't think it is sound web site management to post the real names - the user names should probably be used which would end the confusion. Like you - I know some of the real name - screen name links - but not many. Regards:

I didn't you that was your name, and never would have put 2 and 2 together.  I think most know that Dan C is Dan Campisi, I wasn't very inventive when I created my name, I almost want to do that...

But, yeah, I know who some of you are, but, not all.  Especially for the newer comers.  I think we should have both the site name next to the real name.  It makes it hard, especially if the site name has no correlation to the real name.

Lightfoot, I'm not suggesting that you lie, but, anyone want to see Dave slice up is own nut, make sure to post it :)
