Okay - we gave this film a look see.

It was just okay.

Will Smith was fine as well as most of the cast. But the film contained too many falsehoods in the name of building tension and conflict that didn't ring true when you saw them you said - "no way" and - after a minor amount of research you were able to prove that.

SPOILERS

Most egregious of which was the alleged involvement of the FBI in hassling the Doctor on behalf of the NFL to the point of making him leave his home town and escape to California after the tension of the FBI's hassling causes a miscarriage by his wife. Pretty much made up.

IMO, the Doctor's story should have been the B story and the journeys of the individual players (Duerson, Webster, etc) should have been the A story (from gridiron heroes to concussed train wrecks). All true and much more compelling than the made up conflicts in the Doctors life.

So -I gave it a c+ a b- at best.

They forced hyped this movie.

The issue of concussions in sports is a very real and serious one. But this movie was average at best.
