I've been looking forward to this for some time now and finally got around to seeing it this morning.

It is what it's intended to be and it works exactly as planned.  The shark effects are jaw dropping, amazing, and easily the best in a shark movie I've ever seen...or even imagined.  Blake Lively gives a great performance here, and I bought it all hook, line, and sinker.

It's tough to go into a movie like this and be surprised, because the plot and story is just about as simple as it gets.  However, there were some surprises and the tension involved kept me in the entire time.

My only real complaints have to do with something so simple, it shocks me they couldn't make it more believable...and that's how our Protag got to the "secret" beach, and how she planned on getting back to her resort - as is, it's rather stupid and completely unrealistic, and that kind of crap always pisses me off to no end.

You can find a whole Hell of alot of worse ways to spend an hour and a half, and I definitely recommend this flick to anyone who enjoys survival "horror" like this.

Grade - B+

Yeah I read the script for this a few months back.It wasn't bad though it was very skimmy especially in the action pieces as you kind of knew what may happen next.

The trailers looked good too. Obviously I won't be seeing it but good to read your review of it bro!

This movie has been done so many time before. It's as unoriginal idea as one can have.

Saw it. Didn't care much for it. Could see that some people would enjoy it. Ending was ridiculous.

What I find interesting is that these "problem solving" movies are becoming a thing. Where someone is stuck in a situation and they try different methods to get out. One doesn't work, then they try another.

Loved the ending!  The effects were amazing and IMO, very possible, whereas most finales are sheer redonkulousness.

Ending was great. Audience was ADD as fuck for the first half of the flick, but they blew up at the climax. Haven't seen anything like that in a while. Epilogue was junk though. Shoulda scrapped it.

I was actually expecting that when they showed her in a full length shot, she would have a fake leg...that would have been KICKASS!!!!!

I didn't really have expectations for this one, but I liked it. I think it's everything it should be for a glossier summer B-movie.

I thought this was well set up and did a good job of creating a building sense of dread and despair. While I found it all kind of forgettable once I left the theater, I was consistently entertained.

I give the ending points for creativity, but I did have mixed feelings on it. Part of me groaned, part of me was like "cool!"

It would've been. I think the leg had to go one way or the other. So much more satisfying.

Don't think I 'll be watching another shark film. I've reached my limit.

Well...you could either watch this one and be impressed, or watch Shark Attack 3: Megladon, and watch for the classic scene where John Barrowman's character proposes to Jenny McShane's character "What do you say I take you home and eat your pussy?".

The line was adlibbed and insanely left in the final cut of the movie.   ;D ;D ;D

It was. I was happy about that.

Finally saw this move. It was like a "stupid human adventure." Take some precautions when abroad and doing extreme sports. Idiocy aside, it was a good date flick where you could compromise between a full testosterone movie and a full estrogen movie.

I liked it. Wasn't expecting much. It slightly delivered more than "not much."
