Well technically, 8-10 years later. I'm Ben - I used to use this site as a teenager (around 13/14 yrs old!) and post some truly terrible scripts. Just ungodly, awful.

Hopefully, as a 22 year old, I've improved. And I'm actually in a position in my life where I want to take my hobby seriously.

Also, I'm Australian (in FNQ) if anyone else from the land of melanoma wants to say hi.

:)

Welcome (back) Ben, there are a few of your countryfolk on here, sure they'll pipe up for themselves - they usually do ;-)

Welcome. I hate to think that teenagers are getting their stories slaughtered here... but, at the same time, it's a good process to go through. It helps determine those with the stamina to make it and those that just haven't got it. I imagine many, many good writers simply drop off before realising their dream. Good luck.

Oh, I know at least three high-schoolers that did very well and placed in competitions opposite, well, adults (or whatever we are - no pun or anything here). What I mean is - age doesn't matter perhaps. A little maybe - they got to get better with age I suppose.

And here we used to have Dan... He was young and a very good writer. Don't see him here anymore.
Anyway, really forget about the age - or I'll start talking about getting old and stuff. And it aint pretty)

Welcome and good luck at everything.

I don't know what scripts you posted way back when, but from what I've read so far you're well on your way at twenty-two. I believe writing is one field where we do actually improve with age, and lotsa practice, of course.

'Land of melanoma'   ;D

I wonder how many people know what FNQ means? Of course being a Sydneyite, I do.  ;)

Good to see you formally introduce yourself. Official welcome from me.

Welcome back! I'm sure you've improved tremendously. And time is on your side. In 8-10 more years you might look back again and be amazed at the improvement. Or maybe you'll already be a professional writer and you won't be looking back at all. You'll be looking straight ahead at a pool where scantily-clad celebrities are frolicking and doing cocaine. And yes, that is what I imagine the life of a pro writer is like, don't ruin my dream.
