Hi All,

I'm Daniel and I'm from Sydney, Australia. I've been studying Screenwriting (self taught) for a couple of years now. Read a lot of Screenwriting books, including most of Syd Field's stuff. Also studied you tube videos and blogs. I work fulltime in the construction industry which also proves to be a challenge in finding time for writing!

Only recently I did a short screenwriting weekend course to see what stage I was at compared to other newbies. Afterwards I finished my first feature length draft script...although it needs a few rewrites...no where near happy with it as I would like!

I'm a very structured writer and I rely on scene breakdowns and outlines to write my scripts. One of my weak points is struggling to take my ideas from concept to a structured outline/breakdown before starting to write. Because of this I procrastinate my writing which adds to the usual "time" problem!

My goal for the next few months is to get some short films under my belt. I'm also doing another screenwriting course in March...this time an 8 week course in an attempt to challenge myself further.

I hope to learn from like minded people on this discussion board to help me advance my skills.

Thanks for reading and feel free to ask any questions.

Hey Daniel.

Another Australian, cool. Read (and comment) on the scripts on SS, that is the best way to learn :)

Welcome to the site! Best way to get started here is just read/give feedback on other people's scripts. And I look forward to reading some of your shorts down the line.
