SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Things you are looking for  /  Looking for a Feature Film Script

Hello!

My name is Federico Torres. I'm a Puerto Rican filmmaker working towards making a feature film sometime next year. I recently ran across some contacts that could potentially finance a low budget feature (250-300k range) but my projects are all in the development phase. I ask if any of you have or know someone who has a feature script that has a universal location (it would be shot in Puerto Rico), and that is not too high concept that would obviously could not be made with such a low budget.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at: fedetorres5@gmail.com

Hello Frederico,

I haven't posted here in sometime as I've been busy completing and outlining projects that I've been working on though I saw your post and thought that since no one has responded and you are probably sitting back biting your nails in anticipation... I'd respond. :)

I think what you are looking for is what a majority of filmmakers are also after... Low cost, minimal locations, Kick ass Story. Are you intending to film it in English ?

Problem is.... I really don't write with a budget in mind and I do write the stories that I want to create irrespective of the cost... Sorry.

In order to get anyone to respond to your post you should specify more detail... What is the Genre you are looking for ??? I write Thrillers, Horror and Comedy though you may be after a RomCom or a Drama ???

Lastly any writer signing away their hard work to a filmmaker would want to be confident that the filmmaker can get the job done. I checked out your website and all the footage that I saw looks to be trailers ??? Some details about any features you have worked on in the past (if any) would be handy.

Another question that comes to mind is... Why do you have so many projects in development and now looking for others ??? Aren't the ones you have started good enough ???

Lastly are you prepared to pay for an Option ??? SOME... people on this site work very hard and some screenplay may have gone through countless hours of development not to mention numerous rewrites... You only get what you pay for and if you want a very ordinary feature with little potential.... It may be free :(

These are all the questions that should be asked prior to any agreement or even consideration of your proposal.

Good luck and I hope you are around to respond.

Regards Alex

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

To be more specific. I am looking for drama, comedy or psychological thriller that can later be adapted for a tropical location (Caribbean). Would translate to spanish language.

I reached out to this website because I am looking for written scripts because I recently received the opportunity to get financing for a film but the other projects I'm working on are not yet completed. Thinking it would be a good opportunity to get something that is already finished.

My normal job is doing commercials. So 98% of the work you will see in my website are just that. I know the language barrier may seem confusing but that's why I have there 30ss pieces. I haven't made a feature yet. Looking to get my feet wet with a feature.

This is the recent short film I did: https://vimeo.com/95059200

Regarding the option, that would be something to discuss with the writer once the script has been read. But, in all honesty, I wouldn't pay much upfront. It would also be a short option... Like 3-6 months so I can secure financing quickly and not hijack your script for 2 years.
