Can't believe no one has posted about this one yet.

If you haven't seen it, then get on it.

Would have to be up there with Days Of Future Past in terms of best comic book/X-men film.

Story is a bit meh, but it's made up by great music, great action and great acting.

And the violence! Superp!

Loved it!

Ooh, it's our Hugh again.

I'll admit to it not even being on my radar.
Glad you enjoyed it mate.  :)

As soon as I hear super-hero, I tune out. No amount of great music, action, violence or acting will change that. Glad you liked it though.  :)

I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I referred to it as an X-men movie for adults...

If you're tired of superhero films, then I wouldn't miss this one. In fact, it's the perfect film for people who are over the Avengers. Logan revolves around three characters. So it's a very small movie.

The action, tone, and acting are exceptional. It's a grim and gristly film. It's not about hope, it's about the lack thereof. Destructive people live destructive lives, etc etc.

That being said, it does have some minor flaws. There are a few lulls in the pacing, the film has a perplexing sense of time, and the villain is underused.

Oh and the movie studio clearly has no idea which timeline this movie takes place in. But whatever, this movie isn't about the bigger universe.

See it. A- for me.

I read somewhere on some Instagram post, James Mangold stated it is set in the future of the Apocalypse, Days Of Future Past and First Class events, but don't quote me on that..

Not big on escapism, so I generally don't gravitate towards Marvel; I like a little pain in my films. That said, I, like Don, thoroughly enjoyed Logan. A violent alcoholic with a tortured past and a death wish certainly fills the pain quota. Beyond that, it was one of the few Marvel films that felt like it could've been an original film with no intellectual property attached to it, plus a throwback action feel and some borderline indie sensibilities.

Even without viewing the film through a franchise lens, the character is great, and Jackman seems to have a genuine love and dedication for the role, which is amazing considering how many times he's had to reprise it. It's funny it took them three times to nail a stand-alone Wolverine flick, but at the same time, it almost makes sense. I also liked the more rambling, senile take on Professor X on the part of Stewart. A refreshing take on a normally boring and tediously moralistic character with no flaws. Another element that made Logan feel like its own film.

As a hard-R action film, it totally fits the bill. Tons of gore and brutality with F bombs spewed all the place. Deadpool definitely opened the floodgates for these guys in that department. Some flaws -- a little too long, and a reminder that Marvel has perhaps never had any decent bad guys -- but I dug it, for sure.

This is a super hero movie for people who don't like super hero movies.

It had good ideas, but as a rule of thumb, I don't really like movies with kids in them. So, that angle kinda killed the movie a bit for me.

My dad said that to me when I told him he should watch Hunt For The Wilderpeople, haha.

Dad?

I prefer the darker edge comic book adaptations over the big set-piece, FX heavy crowd pleasers and this was no disappointment.  I was actually surprised at just how bleak it was in places - the farmhouse sequence in particular.

Kudos to Mangold and co. for taking a different approach.  A fitting finale.

This was my favorite of the X-Men movies. I guess I do not see Logan so much as a superhero but rather a misfit. That loner that needs not to be alone. Someone set out from society. I love his character so much more than the superhero types in X-Men because I tend to care more for him and root for him no matter how addicted to drugs, alcohol, how jagged edged down right heartless he can be. I love this guy. Besides he's good looking to me.

What makes this one better???? BONDAGE... something I learned from Kev...and not the kinky kind of bondage but the relationship between a father and daughter. Most of us can relate. Also the GREAT contrast: adult and rugged looking VS child and almost frail looking but what connects them is their attitude and their fierce claws and metal skeleton! To be a small girl...wow does she unleash a fury like none other than her father!

As far as the story... this was not really story driven. Sure it had some good set pieces and great action and tons of slashing and blood spatter! To me, it was character driven...it's the same story we've seen over and over... but the characters and the bonds of the characters were what drove this story for me.

Twist... I super loved in a sad way when they tricked me into thinking it was Wolverine near the end listening to Charles talk about family.... even said it was the best night he'd had in years I think...and then he's stabbed through the heart. O M G I nearly passed out. That girl could scream!! But wow what a clever twist.

One major problem for me was the end... how can bullets and blades not kill Logan yet a damn tree stump does him in? That was the only problem I had...and the fact that the hottest of the XMen is gone!!! boo hoo.

GREAT, entertaining movie IMO.

I thought this movie was terrible. I love Jackman as Wolverine, but if they can't make a good stand alone Wolverime movie by now, I'm glad the series is over.

So many plot holes.

He body was dying the entire time from ademantiam poison. You notice at the start his claws don't fully extend because his body is shutting down. The tree stump at the end was just the final straw. As soon as he went through that stump I knew it was the end for him  :'(

Very convenient they ran out of green stuff for Logan to die.  Very convenient the green stuff Logan took only lasted 5 minutes.
P.S. correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the girl have O neg blood. Is that the universal blood type? It would been believable  a direct transfusion would  save Logan - and please no on use the counter arguement 'they're just kids'; they messed around with syringes, killed people (in self-defense) and hid out on their own.

I don't know any kids that know a lot about blood transfusions.

Like I said:  the kids were killing people and injecting themselves with experimental medicine.
P.S. one of the kids had to school Wolvie on how to use the green stuff, so they knew something.

Not too shabby for a superhero movie... (i'm so over the genre) I appreciated the edgier/rated R take on the subject matter.

And despite some serious downtime in the story... Patrick Stewart's performance alone was worth the price of admission for me.

The man is about to turn 77 and between this and Green Room... he is on fire right now and as good as he's ever been in his career.

Just fantastic.
