I'm brave enough to say I think this film, oh yes, I called it a film! I mean maybe because the beautifully lit night scenes won me over, or I have always been a Power Ranger kid, but it was a lot better than I was expecting. Sure, it's filled with forgettable performances, not enough fight scenes, too slow of a story progression, terrible overall plot, very few moments of real emotional connection to the audience, but it also is a Power Rangers movie and those are kind of pre-requisites for the genre. Plus, it was enjoyable even with those downfalls, and it's beautifully lit night scenes, earned it a thumbs up from me.

I was pretty impressed with it. Could have used a couple more action sequences and WAY more face-melting guitar solos, but it struck a pretty fine balance between staying true to its roots and delivering something blockbuster-y.

Elizabeth Banks was just as bad a choice as it seemed like she would be.

Most of the design updates were well handled. Rangers looked cool, and Goldar was a neat concept.
