Hi all, I've recently been messing with new Apps since I updated my phone and I've realised there's been some pretty nifty developments on the old screenwriting front.

There's a protocol called Fountain that let's you write in text editors and then transfer it into screenplay software and be automatically updated into screenplay format. It can be saved as a standard text file which means it will never get outdated and can be used cross platform and on different software.

On top of that it means you can use all the shortcuts that are available on ios, android devices such as swipe, predictive text and speech recognition meaning it can be extremely productive.

There's a few useful apps, like dubscript which accepts celtx files, final draft files etc. You can convert them to fountain just by renaming them and then continue your work on your mobile devices before exporting them back out, if you desire.

I've not explained it very well but it's worth checking out. It's nice to be able to write a script so quickly on a phone.

https://fountain.io/

That explains it a bit better.

It means that literally any text editor like notepad, write, jotter pad etc becomes a screenplay software.

Download a free fountain compatible screenwriting app like dubscript and you've got a completely free, perfect quality, cross platform screenplay software that has access to all the latest gadgets like predictive text and voice recognition.

It's  great.
