I'm going for a Physics degree right now. Outside of story-telling, science has always been a fascination. I want to have a deep understanding of how this strange thing called existence functions.

Miraculously, there are a lot of fellow writers and film fans in my degree. There's a girl who's taking a Writing-Physics double Major and she's given me a lot of tips on how to craft better characters. And even taking this degree, I've met a lot of fascinating people. Poets, writers, dancers, musicians, athletes. In a way, I sort of think this has to broaden my perspective in a way that can better my story-telling craft. I sort want to write something about these people, something that can open people's minds beyond trite Big Bang Theory stereotypes.

Anyhoo. I prattle.

I used to love folk dances when I was young. Now it's salsa and ballroom dances such as samba rumba and cha-cha-cha. Lots of fun!

Hey, TheReccher, I did a theatre show once with a woman who had an advanced Math degree and worked for NASA. She was into singing and the show was a musical. Yeah, people come in many colors)

metal detecting...

Would you hate me if I told you I have in the past enjoyed burying pennies in the sand at the beach just so I can watch people with metal detectors go find them later. ;D

I could never hate you, Pia !

And fortunately, I don't go beach detecting ;-)

Support staff. Hammering nails and such.

When not climbing through the mire,

it's cats...

I love cats. And dogs...

Toby Dog, a 70 pound Rottweiler loves me too. Climbs into my lap like a dinosaur cat.

Don't have the expanse of time I had in the good ole days, though-- that "though" hangs uncomfortable.

Ach! Like Khamanna says, "Meh".  :)

Sounds to me like a great premise for a short. ("Mental Detection", "Doesn't Make Cents", "The Sands of Dimes" - all titles the come to mind.

I've always been envious of people that are good at art. I've tried painting before but it turns out like a 3-year-old has had a go.

Yep same here. I don't even try and draw or paint. I would love to be able to sit in front of an empty canvas and just paint but i would have no idea what to do. Ironically my daughter has an unreal talent for art and drawing from scratch. Funny that
