This one starts production in three weeks in Charlotte, NC.  It's been toned down a bit for a more PG-13 vibe and will be more like an "alcohol leads to terrible things" PSA.

CLT Production out of Charlotte and director Curt Braden attached.  After three options, this one is finally getting its due.

Is it the same director?  Hmm.

Well he's stayed in regular contact and that's more than I can say for the last few projects I've worked on.   I'm actually hopeful this one will turn out.

I've optioned this same script three times since early 2013.  The first time, the director emailed me once.  Never heard again.  The second time, the director emailed me all of two times and started working on a storyboard.  I emailed back to check in.  No response.  Never heard from her again.  Not even a message saying they were going a different direction.  Nothing.

Then a third time.  Same old same old.

This time around, I've made a conscious effort not to contact them or email them for any reason whatsoever.  But they've been courteous enough and professional enough to keep me up to date and request my input on script changes.  It's def filled me with hope.

I have no idea.  I do know that the distributor (I don't know who) is requesting the language be toned down a bit to play to a teenage audience.

Sadly this is a experience most writers go through... all the time. That's life. But it's important to persevere, which you did, so kudos to you.

That was my first thought too when I read your post. They are different companies and different people. Very cool though that two scripts written by writers in Florida get features filmed in the same city in NC.  :)

Thanks Rene. Hopefully this one will turnout...
