Greetings from Shakespeare's county, England

My name is Matt, I am an accountant by day, terrible writer by night. I started writing screenplays 10 years ago, I do it just for the fun of writing whenever I have a spare few moments.

I have no writing credits, in fact in those 10 years I have only managed to hammer out 2 full screenplays (They are both awful so I won't post them) - I am currently rewriting my 3rd.

I guess I am here to engage in the community, pick up tips, and one day share my creation for you to critique!

Happy to be here. Thanks for reading

Matt

Welcome to the board.

It’s a quid pro quo system here. Now, trying not to make you read what you don’t want to read but, if you do read anything on here, try to read someone’s script whose at least active on the board. You’ll find a lot of scripts are just thrown up on here and the writers don’t participate in the discussion board which really sucks since we’re a family of writers here. But it happens.

Don’t be afraid to share your work. Part of being a writer is to have thick skin so might as well start developing that now lol. You’ll find some of the reviews harsh but know that it’s only there to help you become stronger and not make you quit.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the welcome

I do want to be part of the community and actively contribute. I am a novice though so I feel like criticising someone else's work when mine is not up to a scratch a little, hypocritical

None the less I will throw my 2 pence in when I think I can

I have been browsing these forums for the past few days and reading scripts, and I can tell you I have learnt a lot already!

Don't worry about my thick skin, I can take it lol. I am hoping for honest critique (I can't really ask friends and family anymore as I get the none helpful polite responses)

Anyway, I am excited to be here

Beginner, novice, it doesn't matter. A review is a review especially when you get it for free. lol.

This kinda happened to me. I thought I'd be helpful and review scripts that had attracted zero responses. Turns out, in some of those cases the zeros were earned.
