The Rock is one busy dude.  Rampage and Skyscraper both released in 2018, as well as his Ballers series, and a ton of movies in pre or post production.  Damn...the guy gets around.

And here, he's gone to Hong Kong, in a flick more or less made to eat up the lucrative Asian Box Office, much like The Meg did earlier this year.  Somehow, $125 Million was spent, with poor NABO returns of $68 Million, but very nice WWBO returns of $305 Million...well, maybe not "nice", but not bad for a movie that really isn't very good.

There's lots of action taking place and the Rock literally is hanging thousands of feet above the ground multiple times.  The Rock and Neve Campbell do quite well in terms of being likable characters, but we have a plot here that is so lame, hard to understand, and not even really made remotely clear until near the very end of the movie.  And, our villain(s) is very forgettable.

If you don't care about reality, don't care about plot and story, The Rock entertains, as he usually does, but once you start thinking or thinking back, you're not going to be impressed...at all.

Grade - C-

You know it's bad when you can't remember how many villains there were.

Pretty generic movie. Deserves no praise.

You guys must be fun at parties.

Seriously, Jeff, is there anything you like about anything? :D You gave Mad Max a C, You gave Halloween a C-, and you don't seem fond of B movies. Must every movie be an Oscar contender?

I give Skyscraper a B+. It was a pretty fun hybrid of Die Hard and The Towering Inferno.

I'd rather take Jeff's opinion. I would never watch a Halloween film nor anything starring the Rock. Even without seeing the films, I know his reviews are spot on.

Well...if you read all my reviews, you'll see alot of things I really like, as I always give a grade.  Rarely do I enjoy "Oscar Contenders".  I love "B Movies", actually.

I wanted to love Skyscraper, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it was not a good movie at all.

I'm pleasantly surprised to hear this, Dustin, but thanks, man!

I was just jesting with you. :D But you do seem to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. Just a pattern I've noticed over the past three (?) years.
