So promising. So disappointing. OMG I've never wanted the protagonist to get killed off so much: Stupid lines, stupid actions and decisions, and wooden expressions. Stereotypes and everything you've ever seen already in a WWII film. And 83% on Rotten Tomatoes!?!

Two thumbs down and one star*

Yeah, this one sucked. The least they could've done was deliver some good old-fashioned monster fun. Instead we mostly get dull pyrotechnics sequences and a bunch of moronic dialogue in some lady's attic. The filmmakers appear to have no interest in war, no interest in history, no interest in Nazis, and very little interest in monsters, so I'm not really sure why this movie exists.

I enjoyed it.

It did exactly what I expected for tbe silly,  Castle Wolfenstein, premise.

It'd have probably been better if the Sarge made it out of the opening scene as he was the most compelling actor in it, but other than that it was good for me.

I want to see this. I always support the idea of breaking the taboo of genre mixing. I tend to despise taboos in film or writing in general.

Being a fan of Wolfenstein, I wanted to give this movie a look. So, I did. It wasn't good. It was surprisingly pretty dumb considering the good reviews. It didn't deliver on a promising premise, had a horrible, stupid main villain and no really compelling good guys, no compelling creature effects, no... nothing. It really didn't have anything interesting in it. This movie was a flop and deservedly so. I really expected it to be better. It's not super horrible or anything, it's just a 2018 B-movie, with no originality in it. It's all so... derivative and predictable.

I've been wanting to see this ever since it came out.

I now see why it tanked at the BO.

And it's not because it sucks, it's not even bad, really.  But, it's just not good, either.  And it's not memorable.

From the original trailers, it's shocking how dull this turned out to be.  It just took way too long to get into the church, and what was there, was not half as entertaining or scary, as it looked to be.

Wish I could be more positive, but they messed up a surefire winner here.

Grade - C

I enjoyed it, but it made a lot of mistakes. It took way too long to get to the meat of the story, it wasted time on a meaningless side plot, it didn't pay off some of the delicious set ups (why didn't Grandma do something? Anything?!?), and the big baddie was a mustache-twirling villain. Terrible choices.

I love that the movie exists. It shows the potential for genre-mashing. Parts of it are really, really cool. I just wish they'd leaned a little more on the scares, made the tone a little creepier, and focused the story a lot more.
