Those guys are right. Plus you'll almost certainly run into collaborative issues; especially if you're not already working together, and preferably near to each other.

You'll also get it done a lot faster solo.

I have a writing partner I sometimes work with, and it's always so much slower. And that loss of momentum can kill a project.
