Liked how even in death one can't escape bureaucracy. Maybe strengthen than angle a little more, the sales pitch. Perhaps Jack was an aspiring accountant, banker, or salesperson. They offer, he tries to counter-offer, something like that.

So, is he like blind justice? That description makes it sound like his eyes are covered the whole time, but then

Uriel leans in, frowning ever so slightly, the corners of his
mouth twitching upwards: he is curious.
