I decided to upgrade the old Linux for some DDR4 action. I'm also using Windows... which I hate... but Ubuntu isn't without its issues either, so I'm going to stick with this for a while.

Anyway, my old harddrive also packed up, losing a lot of shit that I never bothered putting in a cloud. So, I needed to find a new solution to write screenplays and I came across Kit Scenarist. So far, it seems great. Full of features that free solutions don't normally offer.

By the way, it is from Russian developers and my Microsoft security didn't like it and refused to run the program without me having to insist. I did some research and the web seems to like these guys so I can't find any reason to think there's anything nefarious going on.

I don't like putting everything in the cloud.
I prefer using a portable hard drive - call me old fashioned, or paranoid... in a 'paranoia is just a heightened sense of awareness' kind of way.

I've never heard of this software and the site gives patches and upgrades but no real overview... Okay, now I see Access Point discussions etc.

Full of features that free solutions don't normally offer.
Could you elaborate, Dustin?

I have a feeling I might need to be a lot more tech savvy for this, but thanks for sharing.

I'm using the Dark Mode option right now, so white ink on a black screen. There's a cork board for cards if you like writing those. There's a research facility where you can add characters, locations, relevant documents, a synopsis, a logline, and a title page. There's also a statistics thing that provides information like character speaking parts, a location report, and even what seems to be story structure analysis.

I like the sound of the white on black. That'd be different. Sounds good, may check it out further. My FD is getting very old and a bit glitchy.

I don't put anything financially sensitive in the cloud .

I use password protected USB drives - toss them in the safe.

In terms of scripts - I'd put them anywhere since I eventually post them all over the internet anyway.  I would not do that if I were a paid writer though.
