[I have this script posted in Short Thriller Scripts, but it is undergoing some major rehashing. So, here is a treatment of the short. This is something I'm producing/directing on a micro-budget so my main concern is getting the story 1) the best, and 2) most affordable, it can be. I'm having trouble with a few things.
The ending is my main problem, I see it as either 1) Jonah running away with Daniel and it ending there, 2) the way I have it written, where we are taken some point into the future where Jonah is in jail for what he's done, but the family has pulled itself together through all this turmoil, 3) the cops arrive and arrest Jonah on the spot, but then it cuts to the above ending where the family is together and healing from their past.
Also, should Jonah have a gun with him when he goes in for Daniel? It shows raised stakes, and it gives him a way to get Daniel out of the house with minimal physical confrontation and damage to the characters, physically at least. I also think it shows how serious he is about getting Daniel out of the house, but is it going too far?]
