Checked this out the other day. From Taika Waititi ( Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What we do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok).

Got to say I loved it. Just my kind of humour with stellar acting from the whole cast. It goes from ridiculous comedy to quite sad and touching effortlessly.

Taika is definitely up there with my favour writers.

Check it out, I know it's not the kind of movie that will be for everyone but I thought it was brilliant.

Yep it is good... we couldn't wait to see it and were not disappointed..

Loved this. Funny, endearing, and powerful. Great soundtrack too. Someone finally used my favorite Tom Waits song in a movie. Think Waititi might be one of the best in the game at this point.

It's a little light considering its subject matter and (SPOILERS!) the only time I felt anything significant was when Rockwell pushed him away to save him at the end.

In many respects, for me at least, this is a natural bedfellow to Four Lions, but several notches down in class. It's still easily one of the year's best, though.

Provides character backstory. We can imagine her character better than if Dena had just said she brought her friend.

I don't know how they pulled it off,  but they did.

This was ok. I read the script when it was on the blacklist, I liked Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. What We Do in the Shadows is his best so far I reckon.

The shift between humour and pathos jarred for me at times and I was never fully sold on it. In the end, I didn't find it funny or powerful enough, it fell between two stools. While the ending is just too much of the latter, mawkish.

I don't have an issue with the premise of the film (making light of Nazism and its leader). Given enough time, anything can qualify as material for comedy. Thus, all the controversy about it felt way overblown. That to me was the biggest surprise, it's pretty weak sauce on a satirical level and didn't justify all the sanctimonious hand wringing that surrounded it...although given where we are in the culture, that really shouldn't have surprised me.

I read it but from the trailer and other videos posted on the internet I see they added a lot and a lot of humor is not on the pages.
So, I’m gonna watch it as soon as I can.

I loved it and think Taika is an amazing writer and film maker, Wilderpeople is an amazing film if you've not seen it.

Think this years Oscars crop was one of the strongest in a while.
