I have no problem admitting that I was a fan of the original made for TV movies and series.  I mean, who could forget Herve Villechaize's Tattoo, screaming out, "The Plane!  The Plane!" in that hilarious voice of his?  Or Ricardo Montalban's Mr. Roarke, addressing his staff each episode, with, "Smiles, everyone.  Smiles"?  Classic late 70's early 80's entertainment.

So now, Jason Blum get together with his buds, Jeff Wadlow, Chris Roach, and Jillian Jacobs, and decides to change things up just a tad.  I just wonder how much pot and booze was involved when they hatched this concept?

I could go on for hours about all the completely silly, redonkulous plot points, characters, character's actions, dialogue, set pieces, and everything contained in this movie, but I don't think it's necessary.

This is truly one of the very worst wide screen releases I have ever seen when everything is taken into account.

At times I started nodding off.  At other times, I laughed out loud at the so dumb it's hared to believe I just saw it moments.  And at other times, I seriously considered just getting up and getting the Hell out of the theater.

It's that bad.  It really is.  And the funniest thing to me is that I can just see these idiots, along with the cast, selling how ingenious and clever it is.  What would be even funnier is that after each praises everything about it, the camera keeps rolling, and we see and hear them all break down laughing and admitting that this is a real piece of shit.

Jeff Wadlow is a hack!

I can't believe you actually paid money to see this thing, Jeff. The trailers looked awful! Lol

I had an AMC card with some money on it, and it was only $5.29, anyway.

I haven't seen this so I won't comment on it but is it really titled "Blumhouse's Fantasy Island"? :X

Jason Blumhouse is clearly a savvy guy and his company have put out some good stuff but sticking your name on the titles. Jesus. Its almost as bad as the ever growing trend of sports stadium being named after their sponsors.

Just. Doesn't. Feel. Right.

Yes, although it's also known as simply Fantasy Island.

Funny thing - when I got my ticket, the guy had trouble finding it, as I asked for simply "Fantasy Island", and then he found it and said it's strange it was under "Blumhouse's Fantasy Island".

Buget was only $7 Million, so they made another hefty profit on a pure shit movie.
