SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...  /  Hey again guys
Posted by: BillyJ, March 23rd, 2020, 3:36pm
Right so this week I got alot do e that I thought I would have because of the coronavirus and staying at home for a while - update :

My feature script : scapegoat guilty is nearly complete for you guys to criticize and get your feedback I'm praying to Jesus Christ I can get it uploaded within the next week, please Jesus Christ make it 2 weeks max.

So then that part is done, what do I do after because they say sit on it a while right? So I'll get you guys to feedback it while I wait a few weeks?

Then I begin by changing it on what you guys say, then what after? I checked on fiver the website where they can help edit it and I pay a fee because I don't know where to go but how do I know they got credits for screenplays that have sold? Or is that just a shit idea?

Do I (once I've changed it what you guys said) just try and send it out for coverage with a few agencies and then change it the way they tell me to and then write up a treatment, a logline and then that's it completed, I save it on a website and move on to my next script? Because I'm getting sick of this lol it's been 13 months and I know it took way longer the first time because I knew I had no idea what I was doing but I'm so getting close to wanting to move onto the next script.

Any replies will be very thoughtful thankyou
Good health to you all and God bless you all, stay safe brothers!

This is what you should do, IMO.

1. Take a breath - slow down.

2. Post the script (in progress I guess)

3. See if you get any feedback - no promise that you will as features are not reviewed here much because of the time constraints.

4. YOU  - determine if you agree with the feedback and make changes accordingly.

WAY too early to be thinking about coverage. But what you can do in the interim is read scripts, comment on them, research screenwriting, etc.

BillyJ, I agree with Dave's assessment.

Use Dropbox or equivalent and you can post part of your screenplay straight away, here:

https://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-workinprogress/

Posting Act 1 for example, and not the entire script, may generate more reads.

I agree with Dave and LC and reading and reviewing a few of your colleagues' scripts would also go a long way, too.
