Now streaming on Amazon Prime...why not give it a watch, right?

Old Sly is indeed getting...well...old.  He's 73, so when this was shot in 2018, he was 71.  Don't get me wrong, for 71, he seems to be doing just great, physically, but he's still 71 frickin' years old.

This is a different Rambo film, but I guess at the end of the day, it's the same Rambo we've known since Rambo 2, back in 1985.

Here, he takes on what appears to be an entire Mexican Cartel - both in Mexico and AZ, but everything was shot in Bulgaria - go figure, huh?

In this type of movie, you know exactly what's going to happen and if you could bet on who lives and who dies, you could become quite rich in the process.

To say the plot is flimsy is 1 of those understatements you don't eve need to say - it doesn't matter if it's John Rambo here, we've all seen this exact same setup played out time and time again.

But, I have to give some credit to the level of blood and guts, and the overall quality of he FX.  But then again, they had a $50 Million budget to play with, and apparently, that goes a long way in Bulgaria.

It's not bad for what it is, IMO.

Grade - B-

I liked it.

Went to the theatre opening night. Big drunk group of us. Those were the days...

Definitely doesn't have the scope or sheer ridiculousness of the 2008 one, but it delivered pretty well on the Stallone, the gore, and the genre beats.

Better leave it as the last one, though. At least Sly looked a lot better than early-70s Charles Bronson did in Death Wish V, I guess...

I saw it as soon as it came out. I'm a huge Rambo and Rocky fan, so I'll be honest in my review. This movie is not good. It's probably the third-best Rambo, but that's not saying a whole lot.

All in all, this movie is garbage until the last 15 mins, which somewhat save it from being a complete waste of time.

As far as filming locations. I think only the tunnel scenes were shot in Bulgaria. The exteriors were all shot in Spain.
