Okay, I'm sure there was a thread on this many years ago but I got tired of looking so hear me out...

I own this on Blu-ray (don't ask me why) and haven't watched it in years. I remembered it as interesting but overall meh. My wife had never watched it, in fact she avoided it many years ago because she had heard that Evey (Natalie Portman) was another woman tortured and made out as weak person in the film.

Well, last night she wanted to watch it since she had heard mention of it on some message board that it's now very relevant so we threw it in. Holy Crap. We hung on every word. Amazing how contemporary the film is to current events. Almost a satire on 2020.

I believe V was just released on either Netflix or Amazon Prime this month - check it out. I'm sure most of you hated this when it came out but it's like a whole new movie.

Fantastic movie. And like you said, very relevant.

Great recommendation!

Everything the Wachowskis do is great, even when it's terrible. But V for Vendetta is good all around. Just a super solid pop-philosophy blast from start to finish.
