Some of the links here don't match, guys. Have notified Don.

Opening from below separately is fine until fixed.

Amazing turnaround getting those up, Don. Thank you!

Good turnout too. Looking forward to reading.

Thanks for getting these up so quickly and thanks to Libby for the challenge.

The reads have been enjoyable.  The parameters resulted in a bunch of varied stories and as a reader, I highly appreciate that.

Running into some parameter issues - but that is par for the course for OWCs. Enjoyed them nonetheless.

Okay - done and done.

Nice job group.

As a reader, I REALLY liked the framework for this one - multiple prompts and genres. There really were no two scripts alike and the pages flew by.

Thanks to Libby and Don - great challenge.

Thanks, Dave.

I'm pretty chuffed too.
Some really great production-worthy scripts in this challenge, and very entertaining to boot.
Thanks up front to all who partook. Is that a word? Yep, I think so.  :D

Agree with Dave, the criteria allowed for some very different scripts to emerge which was great from the read perspective.

And may be just my opinion but is the quality of the scripts in challenges getting better?

Thanks for organising Libby, and I promise to read the instruction next time and not leave myself two hours to write a script ;-)

Totally agree. The caliber of entry lately (Writers Tourney and last couple OWCs) has really gone up in all aspects. A lot of the usual suspects but some newer entrants too. I'm only halfway through this lot but am truly impressed with what I've read. Kudos to everyone that has entered.

;D I have a feeling the bonus for you Ant is that now you have another script pretty much done and ready to post after the OWC. Not a bad two in one.

P.S. Did you see on the other thread I posted Don's link to SS pandemic masks.

Yep, Libby, the other script was 8 pages in when I realised my schoolboy error... will finish up and post shortly.

And yep, seen the link I will be checking out! many thanks

I finished these up yesterday and was very entertained. Great job to all who entered!

I have one gripe with this challenge but even though I'm going to harp on about it, it's just a minor disappointment.

When the challenge was announced I hoped we'd get a load of scripts with some truly creative dialogue. The type of stuff that when you normally pop it into a script, the first response is, "People don't talk like that!" but then when the right actor says the lines, they become the most quoted dialogue ever! Things like,

"Bunch of slack-jawed faggots around here. This stuff will make you a god damned sexual Tyrannosaurus, just like me."

"You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'ma get medieval on your ass."

"I am Godzilla! You are Japan!"

I didn't see much in the way of this, which is a shame. However, that niggle aside these scripts were excellent and most can be cheaply filmed. I expect more options from this OWC than any previous as these are hugely entertaining and CHEAP to produce.

Well done all who took part.

I'm glad I came outta my hobbit hole to enter this OWC.

I read them all and I must say very talented, unique scripts.

Thanks Libby and Don for a great challenge and thanks Steve Clark for staying away and stop texting me every night ;D

First line is Predator I think (Shane Black)

2nd line Pulp Fiction (Tarrantino)

3rd line not sure on that one...

Voted yesterday. I've my favorite, of course, but this is one of the tightest OWCs I can remember. Pretty sure there won't be a runaway winner.

Fantastic work all around - Congrats to all that entered!

Just a lil' reminder:

Friday 9/25 Writer's Choice votes due.

I will put up a Guess Who Wrote What when Don let's me know all votes are in.
Should be interesting...

No guesses yet. No reveals yet.

It's been a thoroughly enjoyable challenge to read.

Am I correct in thinking that a couple entrants have yet to make reviews? Perhaps a crafty writer or two submitted more than one entry?

Maybe our lovely and talented moderator could light a fire under their butts to participate?:)

Could be more than one for some (not me).

The requirement was to --

Quoted Text
Participants must read and comment/review in the discussion board at least five other scripts submitted.

So, we'll see....

I think the community thrives on participation... and whilst I'm not a stickler for rules - usually - maybe we should just DQ those who haven't commented on 5 scripts or more... set a precedent for future OWCs

I’ve read, commented and voted.
So in the wise words of Shaggy......’’Wasn’t me’’
Posted by: jwent6688, September 25th, 2020, 1:58pm; Reply: 35
I read them all and voted. I haven’t done one of these in about 6 years or so but we used to get 34-40 scripts and you could expect about 12-15 reads. This has 15 scripts and just looking at the board, has an average of about 15 comments on each. I think the participation on this was very high.

Gotta check with Don if everyone has voted yet.

Looking forward to some guesses.
