Now, this series would be one of those that I would bet was not for me. The wrong target audience for sure. But...

I really liked this one. At least the four episodes I've seen so far. It's a Japanese series based on some manga graphic novels, I think. I don't even know what those are, lol. It's about three highschool(?) students who are also gamers. Somehow, it's never explained, they end up in a Tokyo that is empty. Everyone has disappeared. They end up having to survive by playing a real game of life and death. After clearing one level, they move on to the next and the levels get harder and harder. If you don't mind reading subtitles, give it a shot. It's not bad at all. Gritty and graphic at times too.  :)

Just looked it up...

This sounds right up my alley. Love stuff like this.
Thanks for the recommendation!

I even turn subtitles on when there's a lot of mumbling in English language films.  ;D

Liked the first Ep btw. Hubby loved it.
Hoping it gets even better - it was a tiny bit repetitive in the first.
Reminiscent of Escape Room and Fermat's Room.

Great visuals and frenetic pace.

Yes, I do think it gets better. So far, none of the challenges have been the same. I like how each type of playing card tells you what type of challenge and the number the difficulty level.

I do turn on subtitles too sometimes when the dialogue is quieter than the other sounds for example or mumbing.

Great to see you around here again, Dena!  :)  8)
