Surprised not to see a review of this since its the biggest movie to come this year outside of Tenet. We have HBO MAX, but just finally got around to seeing this.

In short, I thought this was a pretty lame follow up to the original which I was a big fan of. It's all based on this hokey ancient rock that grants one wish to anyone who wants it. It also take your most prized possession in return. For Wonder Woman, she gets to bring Steve back but her powers begin to fade (somewhat, which is weird). Kristen Wiig gets Wonder Woman powers and Maxwell Lord steals the rock and wishes to become it making him a wish master that he uses against people unbeknownst to them.

This was messy. A great opening scene that pays little dividends to the entirety of the story. A fighter jet that Diana makes invisible and can also fly from Washington to Egypt on one tank of gas. I think Kirsten Wiig's character arc was that she finally learns how to walk in heels. And her Cheetah outfit at the end was awful as well as the big climactic battle.

There were very little memorable moments in this one. I'm glad I didn't have to pay theater prices to see it. It just widens the gap between DC and Marvel as far as story telling goes in my opinion. I sure hope the Batman is better than this and more along the lines of Joker.

OMG. So bad. Very, very, bad.

The only good thing I can say about WW84 is that it was better than New Mutants.

I'm going back to reading the comics.

A frustrating watch, as it felt like there was a far superior film buried in there somewhere.

It felt like Covid came along and they just kind of gave up on it.

The editors, the CGI guys, even the soundtrack folks -- apart from a blink-and-miss-it deep-cut remix of Relax, where was the 80s music?! -- they all just threw up their hands and said, "Screw it."

Gadot and Wiig are insanely charismatic in these roles, but the material really let them down.  Easy to see what this film might have been.

I didn't like the original - so this will be a hard pass

Yeah this was a train wreck of a movie. I must say the resulting YouTube commentary makes the production totally worthwhile :)

I was looking forward to this but it was a complete bore of a movie.  The plot was ridiculous and it felt like a complete waste of everyone's time.

Terrible movie. Gave me Superman III vibes.

Watched it last, such a disappointment!

Only decent thing was the end credit scene.

I worry about myself sometimes. Sometimes I love films no-one else likes and I think maybe I have bad taste in movies. And if I have bad taste in movies, I will inevitably write bad movies.

I loved WW:1984. I think it helps if you buy into the magical MacGuffin,  and I did.

I didn't mind it. I wasn't a big fan of the first one, so I wasn't expecting much from this one, and in that regard it didn't disappoint. I was expecting a dumb popcorn movie, and that's what I got. As such, I wasn't bothered by the giant plot holes and wild implausabilities.

I feel about this one pretty much how I feel about the first one: Gadot and Pine have terrific chemistry, and everything else is just noise and flash. If you don't go in expecting to have your life changed, it's silly, harmless fun. Some really bad CGI, though. And Wonder Woman swings on her lasso way too much. She's not Spider-Man.

I didn't understand the Chris Pine in another body thing. There was no reason why he couldn't have been brought back in his original body since it was a wish anyway.
