Woaccelerator is a 4 month intensive screenwriting initiative aimed at accelerating screenwriters careers through education, mentorship and script analysis.  Screenwriters will come away with a portfolio of 10-15 scripts at the end of the program that they can take to the marketplace.

The core of our free program has three components:
1. Writers work with a team to get their portfolio of scripts production-ready
2. Scripts goes into our patented option marketplace with vetted producers (new and old - but access to capital is the main criteria on that side).
3. Writers have their scripts optioned.

Writers in the program work on a portfolio of material (10-15 scripts) vs a single script.  The program goal is to produce consistent working writers.

There is an FAQ section (footer of the website) that may answer some of the more nuanced questions.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Jeremy

I decided to take this out of another thread rather than hijack it for more discussion, and this seemed like the right place to bring it to.

From what I gather, the program or idea is to be attractive to producers. I expect the producers are the ones who pay for access to the pool of talent, through membership to the yet-to-be-released app. Maybe the program also gets a percentage of sales like agents or managers too, I don't know.

For writers, it's free to apply to join the pool. They say they cap it at 25 writers. I don't know how turnover will work, or if that's the initial pool they're looking for with plans to expand as more producers join. It seems writers can have projects at varying stages of progress, from assignment through to getting paid, and writers own and are credited for the scripts they create. Writers seem to be free to continue writing on spec as well and pushing their own scripts through the system, and there is in house script analysis so I expect they will only promote what they deem to be quality works.

On paper, it seems like a decent concept. I imagine it might be attractive to indie producers and producers who aren't already working with the major players. They might even be partnering with distributors and are counting on producers to have access to financing since those are milestones in their pipeline, but that's just my interpretation. The success of the model will depend on how attractive they can make their platform to producers and ensuring they have a solid pool of writers, which they seem to be focused on getting right now.

What I don't get is the post above which refers to the 4-month intensive initiative and writers coming away with 10-15 scripts they can take to the marketplace. That seems completely separate from the app and website information.

If Jeremy or Casey are reading this then I'd be happy to conduct an interview over email to clarify the program.

I've interviewed the CEO of most of the main screenwriting hosting sites/services.

The website does need some work though as there's a number of broken pages, poor formatting, etc and any website that's Terms&Conditions link doesn't work will unfortunately arouse suspicion.

Message me if you're interested in an interview (and I can detail the website issues, that's my day job).
