SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  February, 2021 One Week Challenge  /  Guess Who Wrote What (only if you voted)...

If you haven't voted, please don't look here until you've voted.

Libby & Don

...
I'm not sure I have a clue myself yet.
Will go through them once more...

Happy guessing to anyone game enough!

I've got an idea on all of them except for Meeting Mama.
Maybe someone new?

I didn't get a ballot!

Also, there's no way I'd be able to guess who wrote what. Thought I had a few of them pegged to certain writers only to find out that they didn't even have an entry in this OWC. I will say that there wasn't one entry that didn't entertain me in some way. Nice work. And, overall, the quality of writing was pretty good.

Michael, if you're not an entrant but did your bit reviewing (which you did) you can request a ballot from Don via PM.

No ideas. Not even sure who all played and who was just reviewing. I'll take a stab and say Anthony wrote Zoom. Two good writers churned out comedies that I really liked but scored low because of obvious reasons.

It's funny that in OWCs with 30 scripts I'd net about 13 reviews on mine. In this little one everyone got close to a dozen. There was good participation on it at least.

Yep, I agree James - participation was great!
One of the benefits of a small turnout.

James
John
Ant
Darren
One of the Ghostwriters
Claudio
Rick
Owen
Matthew Brian (Newb)
Tyriq (Newb)

I think this is right. :)

I think there's one clear winner, but my favorite one didn't really follow the theme. And I'm not sure if I'd be able to dock them points, I enjoyed it that much. Probably best I don't vote on this one.

That’s the skivvy, says Libby…

James
John
Ant
Darren
One of the Ghostwriters
Claudio
Rick
Owen
Matthew
Tyriq (Newb)

Oh, man… darned if you don’t know everyone by first name, Lib… you’re like a ‘Cheers’ enigma wrapped in a Vegemite sandwich, “everyone knows your name” , lol. Okay, bonnie analogy :)…  If some few get that: (Vegemite sandwich), Canadians (to this day) still love the ‘Men at Work’, including the younger generation more than ever.; where am I going with this? I… do…not… know, something ‘bout awesome 80s bands and strange sandwich condiments I’ve never ever tried to this day, lol.

Anywhooo, not sure who wrote what, but I do know a certain writer by the name of ‘Tyriq’ chimed in thanking everyone for the feed back, however… a MOD quickly scaped that post… all good re: keeping it incognito and such, but he/she/they failed to go any further and comment on ANY other scrips for this round… it’s all good, I hold no grudge or Ill will against said ‘newb’, and will simply let my review stand on their script thread as I left it because, well… there’s something about the story that I really liked, so, yeah, a bit nuanced, but all good, and waiting politely but (im)patiently to see who wrote what, ooooh…?

;D Rick.

Well, I think that roll-call's right. Only Don knows at the moment.

I actually thought Rob might have written Relationship of Convenience, (his quirky sense of humour) but I don't think he's partaking in this one.

Likewise Celluloid I thought might be Steve. But he ain't in either, far as I can tell.

I think I know a few but don't want to let the cat out of the bag.

I didn’t enter (if the Matthew in your list is me)

I would bet my house that Anthony wrote Zoom. No idea on the rest.

Aha! Well, you got me there.
You reviewed a lot. Thank you! Did you vote, Matt?

I want to say John for ‘Relationship of Convenience’

Anthony for ‘ Zoom’

Woman Across the Street is : Tyriq (Newb)

An Excellent judge of character: James

Wrong Mark: DJS

Ghost: that’s some ‘film noir’ gumshoe cadence; you are… the Ghost Writer <-- cool name BTW, mind you, LaLa Land alter aficionado could be Espanola incognito … Meeting Mama.

Round here it’s Quebecois Francois…:) That being: write what you know (scripts that be). I do not know Espanola, but them a long way from LA might?

All I (think I) got for now…

No, I thought I would leave that to those who entered. Plus I didn't make any notes whilst reading like I normally would when voting

Read, reviewed and scored them all but I have no idea who wrote what. I just know there are some talented people out there. I can’t say they were all my cup of tea but there was not one that I didn’t find something good about.

All right, my ballot is in. As far as guesses go, I'm not terribly familiar w/ everyone's writing styles. I'm gonna go ahead and guess John wrote "An Exceptional Judge of Character" and Anthony wrote "Zoom".

My favorite though was "Celluloid" even though it didn't really fit the theme or genre lol. I could've sworn Steven Clark wrote that -- I can often tell by the writing style and the way they format their scripts -- but he wasn't even in this one.

A Chance Encounter -- John

An Excellent Judge Of Character -- James

Zoom -- Anthony -- if he entered.

Celluloid-- Darren or James or Rick?? Um, not real sure who you are. Sorry. :(

Anywaz, pretty confident. Of course, 7 out of 8 ain't too shabby, either. :P

Or vice-versa.  :D

P.S. Canadian Rick, not UK Rick.

I wish I had written that one! I liked it a lot. I’m gonna say Rick write that one, if he’s even in this challenge.

BTW, I didn't write Celluloid.

When will the official vote be up with the writer's revealed? There's a couple I want to review...

I'm writing a romcom next time, no matter what the genre... throw you all off the scent ;-)

Shouldn't be long, Michael.

Don said he'd be on it.

P.S. I know, I know... But I'll say it anyway. No-one out themselves yet. Stay Mum for a lil' bit longer. :)
